Today I broke down and went back because I needed some yuca fries. I was worried that the girl from last time would probably poison me but it's been a day so why not!? Instead of anything remotely negative happening I had the pleasure of dealing with "Lulu" Lordes at the drive through, she asked me how I knew about yuca fries and thanked me for liking their product , even through a mask I could tell she was happy and she meant it. She sent me on my way with an excellently cooked batch of chicken breast as well. Thanks for turning this review and opinion around!!
So I ordered online because I work close by and thought it'd be a quick easy process. I get there after ordering just the 2 pc grilled chicken and yuca fries but I decided to add one chicken empanadas to see if they were any good. That's on me. I tried to relay the order to both the kids and the manger (I think) bit they don't speak anymore English than I speak Spanish. I thought we worked it out though. After waiting a while they hand me a box empanadas and regular fries. I typed out on Google translate the situation and go back in and wait. The maybe manager sees me and all the subbem is very busy until a girl who does speak English comes out. She understands the situation and then tried to charge me for both meals. I lightly object to this, she confers with the lady in the black uniform and then shoves the bag across the counter and says TAKE IT. I get back to work and open the bag. Guess what?! Fried chicken. Read moreI’ve always been a loyal customer of Pollo Campero, frequently choosing it for its delightful flavors and generally positive atmosphere. However, my latest visit compelled me to share my disheartening experience, hoping it serves as constructive feedback for improvement.
Firstly, during our visit, a staff member was circulating the restaurant, requesting patrons to fill out a review questionnaire in exchange for a complimentary side of chicken or salad. Unfortunately, and quite noticeably, our table was entirely overlooked. This staff member made a point to approach every other table but ours, making us feel blatantly disregarded. It’s disheartening to see such selective attention, especially when we’ve supported Pollo Campero so fervently over the years.
Additionally, the professionalism of the staff, particularly an employee named Yirel, was significantly lacking. Observing Yirel texting and holding her phone while taking orders was disconcerting. Not only did it detract from the quality of service, but her demeanor and attitude towards customers were less than welcoming. This behavior is unprofessional and tarnishes the brand’s reputation, which many have come to respect and support.
These incidents have led to a disappointing experience that I hoped never to encounter at Pollo Campero. I sincerely urge the management to address these matters. Read moreOkay so I’m trying to calm down before I write this horrible review. I put my order in around 2pm with GM. Then was told someone would call me back at 5:30pm to confirm. Of course I called around 5:15pm to make sure everything would be ready & was told by the night manger it would be. So I get there & of course it wasn’t ready but I didn’t mind. Let me just add that I was coming from 610 & Fannin. Then drove to Pasadena because I had family from out of town & hyped up the place. Order was incorrect. I ordered a 20pc meal & 12pc chicken by itself. I asked for half original & crispy on both orders. Tell me why I open the box & it was original and grilled 🙄 Then drove back from Pasadena to restaurant to be corrected. I pickup order & it was still incorrect!
