Where should I start? First of all , Did not like the fact that I had my purse searched at 65 years old I am not accustomed to that. The inside was very attractive, good music and vibe…our server was pleasant but was not impressed with the “TAP WATER” I was served with plastic cups!! Not at all acceptable for brunch.. We were informed that they were serving appetizers bites and baskets with no fries!! There is no soft drink menu strictly alcoholic beverages.. I’m not a big drinker I’m diabetic and I informed the waitress of that I proceeded to order a frozen beverage that came in the same small plastic cup that couldn’t have been more than 6 ounces.. now, if you want to charge me $10 for a small plastic cup frozen lemon drop at least give me some decent water especially since I couldn’t order a lemonade iced tea or even a Coke so this place is definitely not appropriate for children. After placing our order of chicken and waffles, we had a 45 minute wait for our order to be served only to receive waffles that were drenched in OIL !! And chicken that could’ve flown off my plate because they still had a lot of feathers!!! OK, so I passed that up as maybe I sometimes that does happen but the people are all right or the same thing and he had the exact same problem so I proceeded to eat my food because I was hungry and I ate all the waffles and I noticed that there were peaches or should I say a slice of peach on top of the waffle along with the butter that was entirely too salty( Great idea about that peach flavored butter, but next time use Unsalted) And when you’re serving peaches, please make sure they are warm on top of my waffle is ice cold !!! everybody in the vicinity of the establishment we were sitting in to our right and left hand complaints about their food and the woman to our right or the French toast that is obviously made with pancake, but instead of a slice, it was a big hunk of cake, as though she were attending a birthday party unbelievable !!! Listen, I have absolutely nothing good to say about this restaurant except the Decor was Would not recommend it to anybody and by the way, I’m visiting Houston from Tampa Florida so come on down to Florida and let me show you how brunch is done cause this is definitely not it!!!!!! Don’t waste your time or your money oh and did I mention why am I looking across from me seeing people smoking hookah not acceptable while I’m eating that should be done on an...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with recent dining experience
My sisters and I dine out together at least once a month to bond and support good local spots. We understand the economy is tough, and we usually tip well. This visit was by far the most ridiculous restaurant experience we’ve had. I’d like to tag the owner for awareness, as we were left frustrated from start to finish.
Parking: The only option shown was $20 valet, which is outrageous given the entrance is less than 250 feet away. It felt like an unnecessary burden, especially since this is not a standalone building and there are multiple businesses on the same strip with the same address but different suite numbers and they didn't charge.
Seating: There was a “wait to be seated” sign, but no one was available to seat us for about 10 minutes. The manager and the waitress were nice; the delay was the bigger issue.
Food: Our orders arrived with acceptable presentation and accuracy. However, the meal I ordered, French toast, consisted of two very small slices. Peachez.....Fried pound cake with bacon bites, is not French toast that's disrespectful 😡 while my sister’s waffles were fried in a deep fryer (not ideal).
Billing: The bill came to $126 before tax for three people, and with taxes and a 3-person gratuity, it totaled about $170. This confused us because Texas sales tax is 8.25%, and adding a 20% gratuity plus tax on the gratuity is unusual and seemed excessive. It gave the impression of mismanagement or lack of understanding about tipping practices.
Alcohol: (I do NOT drink) the drinking towers seen on other guest tables, looked overpriced and smaller than anticipated, with extra ice diluting the beverage.
Overall: The layout of the seating and space felt impractical, with furniture placed in ways that don’t make sense for comfortable dining.
Our usual meal total is around $200+, which is fine when the experience matches expectations, but this visit did not. Based on this experience, we’re considering other options and will likely avoid returning.
Peachez: I’m sharing this feedback in hopes improvements are made. If possible, please address valet pricing, seating efficiency, accurate menu descriptions, fair billing practices (especially around gratuity and taxes), and general restaurant flow. We’d be open to revisiting in the future if...
Read moreSubject: Concern Regarding Billing and Service Experience
Dear Peachez HTX Management,
I am writing to share my recent dining experience, which unfortunately left me disappointed and confused. My server, Jessica, provided inaccurate information regarding pricing, and I believe this situation needs to be addressed.
I ordered the shrimp and grits ($26) and a side of eggs. When I asked about the price of the eggs, Jessica informed me they were $2. I confirmed this with her multiple times to ensure I stayed within my budget. Additionally, my table ordered a drink tower based on her recommendation, as she stated it would be $8 per person. Based on this information, my total should have been around $34 before tax.
However, when the bill arrived, my total was $57 and some change. I questioned the charges, and after a long discussion, Jessica mentioned that the eggs were actually $5—contradicting what she had told me earlier. She eventually removed the charge, stating it was a “misunderstanding” and “her bad.” Even after the adjustment, my total came to $47.22, which still did not align with the pricing originally explained to me.
What added to my concern was her reluctance to go over the bill in detail and her pushiness for me to pay without clarification. After reviewing the situation with others at the table, I learned there may have been an automatic gratuity or service fee added that was not disclosed or shown on my receipt. If that is the case, this should have been clearly communicated before payment.
Lastly, Jessica mentioned that if we rated her highly, we would receive 10% off our bill; however, no discount was reflected on my receipt.
While I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and environment of your establishment, the lack of transparency, misinformation, and poor communication during this experience were extremely disappointing. As a college student on a set budget, this situation left me in a very uncomfortable position.
I respectfully ask that you review this matter and provide clarification or a possible adjustment regarding my bill. Thank you for your time and...
