Second time at Piggy's and we will not be back. The service is unapologetically horrendous! The first time we went we told them we'd liked to sit on the back patio as it was a nice day and we'd just walked the trail on Allen Parkway. We waited for 20 minutes with no server acknowledgement... just as we were leaving someone brought us water (no menus!). They seemed surprised we weren't happy. Second time, which was Sunday for a late brunch at around 2pm, we went back hoping that perhaps the new was had worn off and the staff was better. It was a gorgeous afternoon and we'd just been out biking, so again, we sat on the patio. A person bussing the tables said he'd send someone right over. While we waited I went to the restroom - as I was walking back to my table I passed by a waitress that said to the person that appeared to be the manager, "We drew straws and I lost and got the table". I got back to the table and told my husband what I'd just overheard and described the waitress. And you know what happens next - of course it was the same girl. My husband ordered a frozen drink and I ordered simple drip coffee. That came out pretty quickly. We proceeded to place our order, but we had no silverware so I asked for a spoon to stir the soy milk in my coffee. We waited and waited. The waitress did not return. Next thing we know a person who looked like a chef delivered our meals. He was very pleasant and retrieved our needed silverware and said to feel free to ask for anything else needed. He was the last employee we saw for the duration of our meal. Let me set the scene for you. It was not busy. There were only 2 tables with people on the back patio when we arrived. So it wasn't like the restaurant was so busy they couldn't keep up or give service. There was also no one inside. During the time we ate we saw about four other tables of people be seated. All but one group had to get up and go inside to ask for menus and service. The one group that was seated the last out of those four groups was brought menus immediately (by a different server!) While all others that had been waiting continued to wait. I went inside to close out and pay our tab, seeing as no one was coming back. The person at the register again, pretty sure it was the Manager, greeted me. I let her know that since no one had been to check on us and we were finished that I'd like to close our tab. She didn't offer a single apology. She just asked who our waitress was, I answered honestly and said I had no idea as she didn't give her name and never returned to our table after or drinks were served. Again, without ownership of the terrible service or apology she just asked what our waitress looked like and where we sat so she could run the bill. As my husband and I were leaving we actually gave our menus to one of the tables that had been seated for at least 10 minutes. They also made comment about how slow the service was but had also been a couple of times before when it hadn't been too bad (maybe we've only ever been on off days?!). It's really sad because this restaurant is in a great location and has a wonderful patio, and is also part of the Creek Group which is normally good. The menu is pretty good, and food was decent and they have a good selection of drinks, but without good service we will not return again. Shame that we have to give up on what could be a great local brunch spot.

6/18/18 Brunch Review: We ordered frozen mango mimosas and they were heavy mango flavored but low alcohol. I was okay with this. I had the Egg in a Hole with avocado and tater tot hash. The cheese was delicious with the avocado. The hash was seasoned very well. I had a few bites of a couple of my friend’s dishes - 1) Nachos and 2) Kitchen Sink (I.e. sausage/hash/eggs/gravy)The latter had a flavorful bourbon gravy. Both dishes were pretty good but I loved the Egg in a Hole. The service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and available. One thing - the music was so loud on the patio that it made conversation difficult. They had ample speakers hanging from the patio cover. We requested to turn the volume down a few times and they did for a bit, only to shortly raise it again. 11/18/18 Brunch Review: the hostesses were awful. Went there for a birthday brunch. First hostess said the wait was 10-15min. 30min later we see everyone else that came in after us seated. Asked again how long the wait was. Different hostess said 45min now. 45min later, hostess said still 45min wait. She said tables couldn’t be put together except in one area but then she kept seating people in that area so we couldn’t be seated. Later on, saw tables put together to accommodate other guests. Nightmare. Manager got involved/we appreciated his help. Finally 1.5 hours later offered backroom for us. Why wasn’t this offered beforehand? Why was a 45min wait still a 45min wait 45min later? Why were tables put together for other parties but not us? Attempted to plan for this a month in advance and was told they’d take care of me/wouldn’t be an issue. Manager gave us 2 mimosa carafes to make up for inconvenience, which we appreciated. Backroom was worth it. Food was excellent as usual.

I'd be happy to help you write a food review for Piggy's Kitchen and Bar in Houston, Texas, focusing on their chicken biscuit dish! Piggy's Kitchen and Bar in Houston, Texas is a must-visit destination for any foodie looking for delicious, southern-inspired cuisine. On my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying their chicken biscuit dish, and I must say, it did not disappoint. The chicken biscuit at Piggy's is an absolute standout. The biscuit itself was perfectly baked, with a tender crumb and a golden-brown exterior. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, with just the right amount of seasoning to give it a little kick. The combination of the warm, buttery biscuit and the savory chicken was simply divine. What really set this dish apart, however, was the addition of the homemade honey butter that came alongside it. The sweetness of the butter perfectly complemented the savory chicken and the flaky biscuit, creating a truly indulgent experience. Overall, I would highly recommend Piggy's chicken biscuit to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast or brunch option. The quality of the ingredients and the care put into the preparation are evident in every bite, and the result is a dish that is sure to leave you feeling satisfied and happy. So if you're in Houston, make sure to stop by Piggy's Kitchen and Bar and give their chicken biscuit a try – you won't regret it!

Went March 2024 after work for a Wednesday happy hour.

Parking - they have an extremely and I mean extremely small parking lot that I would worry parking in there if your car will get hit. I opted to park on the street. I had no issues as it was around 430 but I can see how you might have to walk very far if on a weekend .

You order at the bar and they give you a number and food is brought to whenever you chose to sit. There is inside and outside seating. They are dog friendly outside.

Drink -got the daily special which is 7.00. That day it ws a hurricane supposedly nothing about that was a hurricane. I have had q hurricane from the original Pat O's in NOLA and other NOLA place they are all red and punch tasting in a way. this was a light orange juice type color and tasted more like a mai tai than a hurricane although it was okay tasting certainly not a hurricane.

Food - online the ad for Wednesday happy hour is the greasy chicken(shows chicken wings ) and 2 sides. In real life it was chicken fried chicken with 2 sides around 18.00. I was already annoyed it wasnt chicken wings but rather a breaded boneless chicken breast. I chose mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy as my sides.

Chicken was bland ...cooked to perfection but the breading had no seasoning tasted like it was just dipped in flour and cooked. Mac and cheese was actually very good and creamy home made...the best part of it all. Mashed potatoes alone was okay with the gravy not good (the gravy is white not brown) the gravy lacked favor and I'm used to brown gravy which normally has more flavor.

The customer service was good and it was clean and the music playing was the right volume to where you can still hear someone talk there was no DJ nor anything else during my visit so I can not...
