Read the other bad reviews and you will see a common theme. The decor and ambiance is top notch but the food is sub par and underwhelming. Muse is great at making everything visually appealing.
My date and I ordered the Wagyu Potstickers, and Oxtail Bone Marrow appetizers. Both appetizers had the same issue of while being flavorful is was very rich and came with nothing to balance out the richness. The Bone marrow did come with I think was truffle butter and a slice of sourdough bread but the butter is just as rich as the marrow so it just made the richness more overpowering. It made my palette feel over saturated and there was nothing there to cleanse it. Also take note that the wagyu potstickers is Texas Wagyu and not Japanese Wagyu.
For entrées we order the Duck Fat fried rice Spicy lobster pasta and the sea bass. The lobster pasta came in a red sauce that tasted like Ragu. The sea bass with corn was bland and flavorless. Both we found inedible and sent it back. The Duck fat fried rice was just ok. It was the one thing we did eat but it was nothing amazing.
Now the drinks, we ordered Her Muse and The Muse Margarita. We didnt like either of these drinks as well. By this point I had already mentally checked out. We left severely disappointed.
Two drinks and two appetizers, one side of fried rice ended up being a bill over $100.
I do not reccommend this place. Save your...
Read moreIt was my birthday and I wore a black dress with a low sweet heart neckline. My dress did not reveal any body parts aside from the sides which was sheer and it was knee length. I was asked to put on a jacket or go home to get a jacket to put on and come back. After waiting off to the side while other people were seated, I was told “we will tuck you off in a seat”. My husband and I were seated in a booth where we couldn’t see anything, but I was told how gorgeous I looked and “happy birthday”….. as a woman of color, I was embarrassed and was even scared to go to the bathroom. However, I noticed and witnessed women wearing cropped tops and revealing clothing and were sat anywhere.
I’m sure the establishment will respond mentioning their “strict” dress code. The dress code was smart casual and I overdressed. Not to mention, the portrait that is currently hanging when you walk in even features a nude woman with nipple tape, so for me to wear a black seven o’clock dress and asked to drive 35 minutes home to “cover up” was distasteful.
The food and server was amazing; however, I do advise better clarification for dress code or treatment of guest. I was crying at the booth while my husband consoled me every now and...
Read moreA bit of a mixed experience. The ambiance was very cool and carefully curated from the industrial door coming into the dark foyer to the lit trees and DJ giving a sophisticated, mysterious, New York City vibe. Staff was attentive and friendly. The drinks were elaborate and presented a wide variety to suit different tastes. The food was OK. The fried rice was tasty and the Chinese sausage added a positive fatty and sweet flavor to the dish. The dumplings were very oily and it was hard to tell if in was intentional or unintentional that they tasted like buttered toast. The crispy shrimp tasted like frozen battered shrimp tossed in sauce, but who doesn’t like that. Similarly the Karaage buns were tasty but not what I would have expected from a gourmet restaurant. The sushi was the most disappointing with the salmon in particular tasting fishy. Our group’s consensus was that the fish probably wouldn’t get us sick but was not suited to be eaten raw, requiring a deep dunking in soy sauce to be palatable. Bottom line you are paying for the cool factor more...
