I've been there about three times, and this last time I had a terrible experience. The other times I went it was just okay, my friend wanted to go because she's never been there. They weren't that busy, and our waitress came over and told us that she just got a big table so she might be coming over to us that much . We ordered some drinks and she never came back to bring us our drinks and never came back to take are order, We sit there for a whole hour looking for her and she never came back!! We finally went to go sit at the bar thinking we might get faster service and I asked for the manager, the manager came over and started looking for are server and said she couldn't find her either. We ordered our food at the bar and the bartender was Very rude also it was a male bartender with dreads and glasses. He told us that because it's busy that's why we had to wait. I told him that it's not that busy and you should always give good customer service regardless. I also told him it's not right for our server to never come back. He was very argumentative with me, and I told him I only wanted to speak with his manager because he was being rude. We asked the manager for to go containers for our food because when our food came we were just ready to get out of there because it was so stressful, and who wants to be stressed eating their food! So she packed our food up and didn't even give us a discount on our food. When we finally got our food it was 2 hours after we got in the restaurant. In the end the manager came over and gave me and my friend $10 vouchers for appetizer. That was nothing, I feel like she should at least give us a discount on the food because we had such a bad experience and had to wait so long. I don't even want to come back to the restaurant to use the $10 appetizer voucher, I just wanted a discount on my food for the bad experience. The restaurant was very unorganized that day. The rude bartender told me since we sit at the bar he had to open up a tab even though we wasn't ordering alcohol, just food, just because we were sitting at the bar. We didn't order alcohol because we just wanted our food to go at this point and when we ordered alcohol at the table they never brought it anyway, When I looked at my debit card the next morning the bartender charge me $10 and I didn't even order a drink or anything at the bar and that didn't go towards my food. Service became noticeably slower as the restaurant got busier, and the request to hand over my credit card as soon as we sat down made me uncomfortable. I later learned that this was a precaution due to past issues with customers walking out on bills, but I felt there might be better ways to handle that situation, such as using security instead of placing this burden on patrons.
During our meal, I received notifications that my card had been swiped before we even received our check. When I asked the server, he explained it was to ensure I had sufficient funds, which seemed excessive considering weâd only ordered appetizers and drinks. I later froze my card, and it turned out to be a good decision, as a charge of $149.03 was attempted after we left. Despite multiple calls to the restaurant, I initially couldnât reach anyone to resolve the issue.
âźď¸ Update âźď¸ Iâm happy to share that the manager, Shaunda, reached out to personally apologize for the inconvenience and explained the situation. There was a technical issue with their network, which caused a miscommunication between the portable pads and their main system, leading to the charge error. Shaunda was very transparent about the issue and assured me that theyâve used this as a learning opportunity. She even offered a gift card and assured me that in the future, I could request not to have my card pre-authorized if I felt uncomfortable.
Her openness and commitment to resolving the issue really stood out. I appreciate the steps the restaurant is taking to improve, and Shaundaâs call made me feel valued as a customer. This resolution gave me confidence that they are working hard to prevent similar issues from happening again.
Note: One small thingâour $30+ mimosa carafe was more bubbles than liquid, which was unexpected. Hopefully, this is another area theyâll address...
   Read moreOKâŚ. So I donât usually do reviews but felt the need to do so because đ. First off, the Caribbean Rum Punch that we got was GREAT! The spinach dip and the egg rolls were GOOD. The vibe was good. The music was pretty good as well. However, We Probably should have stuck with our first minds and just gotten another appetizer considering we were already kind of full because the food itself wasnât good at all. Two of us ordered the chicken and waffles and tour other friend ordered the catfish and grits. Now presentation was okay however the chicken was dry and burnt. It smelled and tasted like it was cooked in 3 day old oil. NOT IMPRESSED!! Yes we ate it. We actually picked through the food. The chicken appeared to be soaked in the grease and it was settled at the bottom of the bowl Now, our friend that ordered the catfish and grits let them know it was disgusting. She sent the entire dish back. This is the part thatâs crazy is not once did a manager approach the table about an entire dish being sent back to the kitchen. Not once did the manager approach our table after we complained about to the over cooked chicken either. And not once did she apologize for the services received she just looked like it didnât bother her. What did happen was a $2.10 discount was applied to Our tab đđđđ. Look, I didnât ask for a discount. It would have been enough for someone to come to our table JUST to extend an apology or ANYTHING regarding the service. He walked passed our table multiple times but we didnât realize he was the manager or one of them until we were leaving out. NOT to mention our poor waitress was NEW but was horrible at the same time. How you walk pass your table and donât even ask if theyâd like a refill on the water???? Being that this as our first time we were all kind of excited because we hadnât hung out together in such a long time. Needless to say this was probably our first and last. We noticed that last year they did service training for their staff, they may need to redo it but include the managers as well.
