I’m writing this review purely so that the store owners may learn from their mistakes in a positive way.

We went in and I loved the store. There were plenty of cool stuff from Asia I was interested in. However, my significant other and I were very uncomfortable because an employee kept following us through the store to the point that we didn’t even want to touch things in the fear of being called out. There was so much distrust that it felt very unprofessional and uncomfortable that we had to leave prematurely without purchasing anything.

I never leave reviews but I really wanted the owners to see this so they may improve their customer service. I understand the need for surveillance but when your employees follow around even affluent people, then there’s a problem. Sorry for this...

I like going to this store because of the cute stationary selection they have, HOWEVER today Saturday, January 11 my experience was off. I went in with my significant other and noticed an employee kept staring at us and kept getting closer and closer and made our shopping experience uncomfortable. I was testing out the pencils and I found one I was going to get. That’s when the employee told me I can’t test out the pencils too much. I POLITELY told her I was going to purchase it and that’s when she rudely told me “well I can’t read your mind”.

So me and my sister stopped inside and I was immediately put off by the 2 young ladies standing guard at the door. As we browsed we were being STARED AT THE ENTIRE TIME. There was this older Asian woman literally hiding behind a display fixture keeping an eye on everybody in the store, just staring the entire time. Very unpleasant atmosphere. Walked by 3 “smile you’re on camera” signs before I figured out how this business operates. Newsflash, you can’t run a successful business treating customers this way. But I guess it’s typical in their community to be mortified of people from other cultures. If you don’t trust the local clientele, maybe pack up and go back to deerbrook mall.
