I was a Sweetgreen enthusiast and was even a Sweetgreen ambassador and secret shopper. But after today’s interaction with a the Rice Village location and a person who identified himself as a manager named “Tony” I will NEVER patronize a Sweetgreen location again.
I ordered an online order and it was not ready on time. When it was ready they threw it on the shelf in a crumpled bag. When I got to my car, it was missing the steak and I went back in and asked for a manager. “Tony” went and put steak on the salad but then instead of apologizing, he told me they didn’t put steak on my salad because they didn’t have steak.
However, they quite literally did.
My order was also missing the bread. So I had a steak bowl that had no steak, didn’t have the bread that I added, and then a rude manager who proceeded to try to make a bunch of excuses rather than simply apologize.
He went on and on blaming ME. I told him I didn’t want to argue and I only patronize places with good service and he said I think I’m better than people. It was an insane interaction, literally the worst experience I have ever had at ANY restaurant.
I went to my car and got the rest of my order (a crispy bar) and went on the app to initiate a refund request. Tony continued to talk smack to me and say he never said they didn’t have steak when he literally did say that.
When I asked him for his name again he said, “Do you want my full government name? I’ll give it to you”
He kept talking smack to me until I asked him to please leave me alone as I had no wish to interact with him further. I’m a black woman and he is a Hispanic male and I do believe his rudeness was racially motivated.
I recorded the interaction and will be sending it in to corporate. That man is jealous of customers and doesn’t need to be anywhere providing a service to the public.
Worse, this was a Sunday and the customer service is bots until they are open again during regular business hours. There are many places to get a nice salad, better yet just make one at home. Stay away...
Read moreHey… I hate to be this person and I by no means feel entitled to get free food. The service here has really gone down. Like bad. I was here 1-9-2025. And the young Hispanic lady with the mole on her nose was just nasty to me for no reason. I didn’t question her or give her an attitude, but she just had a bad attitude. Another lady was helping me get my order. I noticed a 50 cent charge for the tomatoes and cucumber I got instead of the coleslaw. Then some customers came in , the little girl with her two male family members came in. They asked if they could wait inside for a few minutes until their uber arrived(they were not homeless or suspicious). They waited quietly beside the door. The same lady who was rude to me came up to them as told them to sit down “over there” so they are not in the way of the door… she could have asked them nicely to move away from the door, but instead she told them they were in the way and to move to “this spot”. I giggled a bit out of shock the way she handled it. I felt pretty uncomfortable. My food was also cold and the sweet potatoes were undercooked. She felt the need to tell me she worked there for 3 years and my statement about the up charge didn’t make sense. I told her I understand but I was told by two different locations that they don’t charge extra for certain sides (tomatoes and cucumber) if it’s being exchanged for something else. I felt like she just wanted to argue and I wasn’t there for that. I told her okay and left it at that, but she still kept going. Someone teach her customer service skills please. I can tolerate a lot but...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews but this has irked me every time I come here. The staff are rude no matter how polite you are, I get it you can't be nice to everyone, but also if someone is nice back you don't have to give them attitude. I ordered a salad around 6:30pm 12/8/22, and I asked for a bowl with everything on it (premade) and there was someone in line next to me so I go on my phone. I don't hear the person making my order say anything to me and the line doesn't move. It wasn't until the guy making the other persons order states to me that the guy who was making my order was waiting for me when he cut them. I look up and say "Oh sorry!" feeling bad that I didn't realize he cut everyone and was near the register. After i say that, he throws his hands up and rolls his eyes and shakes his head, very annoyed at me. I answer his questions with "yes please, no thank you" super polite, but he just seems super annoyed the whole time. He checks me out the register and hands me the bowl and says thank you and doesn't offer me if I wanted a bag or anything. I felt pretty bad afterwards because I was having a really rough day, but the service made it worse. I go here often and I have only met 1-2 friendly staff members. I will no longer come here, but will still go to other places...
