There are absolutely some disappointments that need to be worked out here. First, if you are out of molds, that should be apparent to the customer when booking the reservation. The reservation page had a LOT of information that was outdated, missing or no longer applicable (child prices, mold availability). To show up with a particular mold to paint to be told that it wasn't available was highly annoying. The ambiance and the vibe was delightful, however, the employees were not helpful one bit. We were seated and left to our own devices after choosing paint colors. We weren't offered phone stands so that we could record, instructions were lacking, even the shipping information/pricing wasn't clearly communicated. It wasn't until the manager stopped by to see how we were doing that we got all of the above. The audacity to ask for a tip prior to receiving service is a bit asinine, and if that was the service we received. We absolutely would have preferred to leave a tip for the manager, not the other employees.
Prior to our items being shipped, I received a perplexing phone call to confirm the items that were to be shipped and if anyone in the party came to pick up those items. This was concerning because photos were provided of what needed to be shipped as well as us specifically saying we were leaving town the next day (Sunday) and would be nowhere around to pick up on the designated day. A follow up call stated that one of the items was broken, which was aggravating to say the least, because how did it (shoe mold) "break"? It was a waste of time and experience to wind up with a broken item. That also didn't align with being asked if the item was picked up earlier that day, that made it seem as if our item was picked up by another party. We arrived with a party of 7 to which all would be shipped. Those items should have been properly stored and marked for shipping. The situation was corrected in that we received a full refund for that particular painting, as well as a free mold and paint kit in the shipment with the...
Read moreOur kids have been asking us to try this place so we did. Overall “okay” is my assessment of it. To start, we were disappointed that they did not disclose the you are limited to 3 colors before we paid. Also they stated it was a 24 hour “dry” timeline (it was a Saturday when we went so that worked well) but that turned into a 48 hour “dry” timeline after it was done. And, then we got an email saying “We can only hold your figurine for a week before we're forced to recycle it” which sucks given that their adapted “dry” timeline forced us into the week which makes our schedule more beholden to work. The experience of painting is also different than what I expected. You are asked pour the paint on the figurine using a pseudo dickie cup and literally have a spoon and dropper as additional tools. Would have preferred paint brushes and other tools used in painting and more color choices. The cost was about 50 per little bear not including the tip.
Update: After submitting my review the owner reached out to talk through my review and seemed sincere in their desire to understand my points and make changes where they can to bring greater clarity to the format before purchase and potentially provide greater color choices. Revised my rating to 4 stars after...
Read moreAs a black person I mean this with all sincerity. This is a colored establishment. They do not do business well. As a customer, I requested a refund because they are KNOWN to throw away your $100 piece of art after a few days even though it only cost them $2 to buy bulk or you can get it delivered, but that's another $30. They stated they do not do refunds and that they'd rather throw it away. When I express my frustration at the situation Andrea sent me a screenshot of me and my partner while we were at the venue like they got us on video trying to steal something. I simply asked for a refund...and not to be on First 48. That was rude but never mind, I proceeded ask if their was a refund policy. The manager said they do not have one. So Sway, how can you say that you do not give refunds if you don't have a refund policy? I'm owed one per the CFPB, and simply for being an American. I also asked nicely. Instead they fought me and kept my $100. But its cool, sometimes you have to support black business and lose money until they get their act together. I pray yall treat my community here in Houston better than...
