I really wanted to love The Butcher’s Grille after seeing many positive reviews but my experience this Saturday was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. I made a reservation for 7:30 PM days in advance for a family member’s birthday and specifically requested indoor seating because we’re in Houston in July. We arrived on time at 7:27 PM after a 40-minute drive, only to be told there was no indoor seating available. The host offered the outdoor patio and promised we’d be moved inside once a table became available. That was clearly not her intention because minutes later, our server was told we were staying outside the whole time. I corrected that immediately and emphasized we were waiting to be moved indoors as the host had agreed and would not be ordering until we move to avoid having to move all the food over.

From that point on, it was obvious they were trying to get us to just stay outside, order, and move on. We chose to wait it out and we waited nearly 45 minutes. The server was polite and brought water, but we sat outside with no timeline. Around 8 PM, the manager finally came out as I requested to speak to him and apologized, saying he told guests to start leaving and was “making a table” for us.

We didn’t receive the table he said he had guests leave for but rather a makeshift table placed in the middle of the pathway, where we were being bumped into constantly by other guests and servers walking by. This is after a confirmed reservation for an indoor table. The table was a last-minute scramble that was an attempt to cover up their lack of organization. I would’ve been happier if they were upfront and honest and told me the real wait time rather than the continuous “I’m getting the table ready for you!”

Inside, the AC was broken, it was loud, chaotic, and hot. The food comes at vastly different times so you may be halfway through your meal while the other person hasn’t received anything yet. It was hard to enjoy anything with the noise, heat, and the constant stream of people brushing past our chairs in the walkway. It was just extremely uncomfortable and we were in everyone’s way.

Overall, I understand that this restaurant opened up recently but the bare minimum hospitality and restaurant etiquette was nonexistent. At other restaurants, when someone makes a reservation then a metal reserved tabletop sign is placed and that table is kept that way until the party comes. It’s extremely unprofessional that I didn’t receive a call beforehand informing me that indoor seating was full so I could’ve reserved somewhere else. There was an empty table but I was told it was reserved for a party of 13 coming in so they’re able to value reservations for certain parties but not for others?

If the manager truly cared about our experience, he would’ve made it up to us through a complimentary item or complimentary dessert knowing it was a family members birthday and that simple act would’ve made up for the horrible experience we had but we were just disregarded. Only our server Daniel deserves credit as he was extremely respectful, caring, and tried to make the best of a bad situation. The food was good but after an experience like that, the good doesn’t outweigh the bad.

If a restaurant can’t manage their reservations because they overbooked or show even basic courtesy for a special occasion, they shouldn’t be taking reservations at all. We weren’t asking for VIP treatment, just the bare minimum: a table we reserved, a decent dining space, and a little consideration for a birthday...

Update from 7/21/25: So I wanted to give this place another shot and I absolutely regretted it. To start off, it’s almost 100° in Houston and the AC was broken. The customer service was a better in some aspects but poor in others, our server this time around was very nice and welcoming (Ruth). However the food took a very long time to come out when there wasn’t a rush at all. I ordered the filet mignon which came with 3-4 pieces of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The flavor this time was fantastic, I was enjoying my food (despite sweating from the heat) until I found a piece of hair in my mashed potatoes. I let the server know how apologized, took up my plate, brought the manager who also apologized and asked if they could make it up to me with a free dessert (the knafeh was okay) instead of compensating for the meal, or even the drinks since the AC was broken, they just gave dessert to “fix it.” Another side note was that there were MANY flies. I don’t know what was causing it nor where they come from but the restaurant’s ambiance began to become more and more displeasing the longer I stayed there. Happy to say that I tried it again to know that I probably won’t be giving this place another shot.

7/4/25: Had to try to this place out after hearing all the hype about it and was super disappointed. I ordered the butcher’s board with ribeye (comes with fries + a house salad). Our table had ordered 4 of these and each of them were VERY cold. It was shocking considering that the steak comes in a skillet. Half of my steak in particular (pictured) was purely just fat to the point where the green sauce was becoming gelatinous. The house salad was basically a bunch of lettuce and spinach with a singular drop of the balsamic dressing.

The service was also not amazing. The servers took a very long time to bring us the check and would keep forgetting to bring napkins and utensils to our table when we asked for it. They also took a very long time to bring out check.

Ambiance was the only going thing about this place, just a bit crammed and difficult to...

Great new addition to the halal food scene in HTX! This new restaurant just opened June/July of this year and it’s already a favorite amongst our circle of friends, it’s located where Dish Society use to be, and although I was sad to see them close, glad that it’s been replaced with an tasty and great new restaurant.

Family and I came here to celebrate a birthday, and we were not disappointed. Everything tasted amazing, ambiance of the place was on the modern upscale side, yet still warm, inviting, and welcoming. Service was excellent, staff were all very sweet and our server checked in on us throughout our dining experience. Servings and portion sizes were hearty and very filling, prices were reasonable given the upscale atmosphere and taste of the food.

The dishes we tried:

C.B.R Wrap: This was their halal chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap. There’s a choice of grilled or crispy chicken, we got grilled, topped with turkey bacon, lettuce, cheese blend, tomatoes and spicy ranch. Comes with a side of fries. Tasted amazing, 10/10.

Double Skewer Plate: This comes with two grilled skewers of your choice, we got beef kabob and chicken tawouk on both of our plates. It is served with rice, grilled vegetables, and a side of garlic sauce. Family loved this platter, only thing I’d say is one the first platter chicken and beef were cooked perfectly. On the second plate though, the beef was a little too pink inside, but the chicken was good and cooked perfectly. Overall still good, 8.5/10.

Creamy Chicken Freekeh: This dish came with two grilled chicken breasts topped with a creamy mushroom sauce (the sauce was so yummy), served with a grains and dried cranberries. So good!!! 10/10 🙌💯

The Dynamite Loaded fries: Buffalo crispy chicken, topped with cheese, hot sauce, jalapeños, scallions, with a side of sour cream. These were also amazing🔥

Overall, highly recommend checking this place out for a great time experience for any special occasion or celebrations with...

If you’re looking for authentic Lebanese cuisine that rivals, and even surpasses, what you’d find in Beirut, look no further than The Butcher’s Grill in Houston, Texas. This restaurant is a gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed like family. The warmth and hospitality here are unmatched, and it’s clear that every dish is made with passion and love. Let’s talk food. The appetizers are out of this world, fresh, vibrant, and bursting with flavor. The hummus is impossibly smooth, the baba ghanoush is smoky and rich, and the tabbouleh is perfectly balanced. Every bite brings you closer to the Mediterranean coast. But the real star of the show is the mixed grill. Tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, the meats here are better than anything I’ve had, even in Lebanon. You can taste the quality and craftsmanship in every skewer. It’s a true celebration of Lebanese culinary tradition with a modern touch that Houston didn’t know it needed. What truly sets The Butcher’s Grill apart, though, is the people. The entire staff treats you like family, and the experience wouldn’t be the same without the owner, Danielle. She brings an energy and heart to the place that you feel as soon as she greets you. Danielle is not just running a restaurant—she’s building a community around great food and unforgettable hospitality. Her attention to detail, genuine care for guests, and deep pride in her culture shine through in every aspect of the dining experience. Whether you’re Lebanese, a lover of Mediterranean food, or just someone looking for an incredible meal, The Butcher’s Grill is a must-visit. This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a warm, welcoming piece of Lebanon right here in Houston.
