This establishment is one of the best kept secrets in HTOWN. The ambience is smooth and laid back, the environment is very clean and sanitary. I mean, what impressed me the most was the "no drama," allowance to infringe on customers comfort zone. The food was phenomenal šŸ˜‹ and those drinks šŸø were impressive šŸ‘šŸ¾ šŸ‘Œ as hell. The wall to wall TV screens allows you to not miss any feed from any network. I am a sports junkie so I appreciate the sports shows. The customer service was impressive šŸ‘šŸ¾ but they could hire a couple of more waitstaff to keep up with demand which is high. The best part about my experience was; there were a group of young women in the ladies 🚺 bathroom 🚻 and staying in there likethey owned real estate in it and I had been waiting to get in for about 10 minutes after knocking on the door 🚪 and while I'm waiting, 2 of their friends announced themselves and gained entrance into the bathroom condo, and my knocks went ignored šŸ™. The manager witnessed it, apologized and invited me to use the men's bathroom and he would ensure that the would be safe, well, as you can imagine my trepidation at using the men's facility ā˜ŗļø my aging bladder couldn't be boujee about it, so I went in expecting to be grossed out by the condition of "the men's" restroom, I was freaking blowed away by the cleanliness and gr8 smell of the bathroom (wow) what a treat and let's just say that I got a peek in the ladies bathroom as the young hags were admitting their friends, and let's just say, I thought I was looking into the men's restroom 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I shall be frequenting this spot many more...

I really wanted to like this place, but our experience was awful from start to finish. We thought The Locker Room was a restaurant, but upon arrival we were asked for IDs just to get in — not what we expected for dinner.

Once seated, the service was extremely slow or nonexistent. Our waitress even told us we needed to ā€œcheck out before our food cameā€ because she had to leave for another job. That should have been the first red flag.

When the bill came, I found out there was a mandatory 20% gratuity, which wasn’t mentioned upfront. On top of that, I had already tipped an additional 18% before realizing it. I asked for an itemized receipt, but never really got clarity on the charges.

The lamb chops were terrible — absolutely no seasoning outside of the jerk sauce. I asked if they could just add some seasoning, but the manager offered to cook them over instead. After an hour of waiting, another waitress told me it ā€œtakes that longā€ because I ordered medium well. When they finally brought the plate back, they had shorted me a lamb chop, and the mac and cheese and collard greens were cold, even colder than before. I didn’t eat another bite.

My son’s chicken was okay (he never complains), but on the way home he mentioned his waffles were cold and that he’d ordered pound cake but was given cinnamon cake instead.

Overall, the food, service, and experience were all extremely disappointing. Between the poor communication, slow service, and subpar food, this place is definitely not worth the hype. I won’t...

Absolutely Ridiculous!! First off when we arrived and sat ourselves, it took 30 minutes for menus and water to even be brought to our table. After finally receiving our menu it took another 45 minutes for someone to come take our order. All of us ordered different drinks but they all had the same sour watered down taste. We told waitress about the drinks, she said she was going to taste it and let them know. Of course she never came back about that. After another hour of waiting for our food, waitress returned to let us know that our food would be prepared shortly. Like after an hour of our order being placed it still isn’t being prepared yet? Mind you we still haven’t touched these sour, watered down drinks yet because waitress still hasn’t mentioned anything about them. After another 45 minutes of waiting we decided we were leaving. Waitress stopped us at door saying Y’all need to pay for those drinksā€. Like no we didn’t drink them, we informed you of the taste and you failed to follow up with customers complaint. Manager told us it was ok we could leave but never once apologized for the inconvenience and poor service. It’s insane that you can’t support Black owned businesses without receiving poor customer service and waiters with nasty ass attitudes. Please ignore the hype...

Review for The Locker Room: Our experience at The Locker Room was underwhelming. First, one of our adult beverages had an issue, and I had to send it back to the bar. Parking was $10, and there’s very limited availability nearby, which was a major disappointment. Additionally, you can’t choose your table, and the waitstaff wasn’t very attentive throughout our visit. On the positive side, the seafood spicy eggroll was good, and the boudin balls, while very spicy, were flavorful. However, the fish tacos were disappointing, and the tater tots were just okay. To top it off, a fountain Coke tasted like a kid’s drink but came with a hefty price tag. The highlights of the visit were definitely the music and the big TV screens showing the football game. Unfortunately, those were the only redeeming factors, and we won’t be returning to this venue.

Came here for Sunday brunch and it was just ok… it wasn’t horrible but I probably won’t be back…. Music: they played good songs a good mix of r&b and hip hop from 90s-current BUT it was soooooo loud we couldn’t even talk to each other without screaming Drinks: mimosa was strong af so expect to be brunch drunk lol Food: chicken was great, waffles were over cooked, shrimp and grits was good but not amazing, oxtails weren’t cooked long enough but the flavor was ok Cleanliness: our table was sticky af Bathroom: they only have one toilet per gender, toilet paper, paper towel and soap were not stocked, but bathroom wasn’t dirty just messy Service: our server was super sweet (can’t remember her name sorry) Parking: limited parking but only $10

This place is a small little gem in 3rd Ward Texas. We went for Sunday brunch and were not disappointed. If you do not have a reserved section come early. The seating is limited and there is nowhere to wait inside. The food was delicious and a nice serving size for the price. An 18% gratuity is added to the check. Our waitress was good but stretched thin so our service was a little slow. She definitely checked on us when she could and she had a great attitude. The DJ kept the crowd dancing and singing and the whole place was a vibe. The restroom is a single-stall and fairly clean. Try the loaded Mimosa. You won't be disappointed. Although this place wouldn't be my first choice for brunch I would go back if invited.
