Read moreI really wanted to like this Vanleeuwen location—it’s in an affluent and popular area, and the idea of enjoying some delicious ice cream here seemed perfect. Unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable. The service was downright awful, and it completely overshadowed any positives about the place.
When we ordered ice cream, we were told they had no cones or waffle cups available, how is this even possible at an ice cream shop, it’s part of your product. That’s disappointing enough, but what made it worse was the server’s attitude. They seemed completely uninterested in helping or accommodating us, and honestly, they acted as if they were irritated that customers were even in the store. It was incredibly unwelcoming and off-putting.
If you don’t like your job, maybe it’s time to find something else—don’t take it out on the customers who are just trying to enjoy their day. The lack of effort and poor attitude from the staff made the entire experience unpleasant. It doesn’t matter how good the ice cream might be; when the service is this bad, it’s hard to justify spending your money here.
This location has so much potential, but until they address the service issues, I can’t recommend it. Save yourself the frustration and find somewhere that actually values...

I don’t even know where to begin. This person clearly read the word “topping” and decided it meant anything but what it actually means. I ordered a pint of ice cream, expecting the sweet, joyous experience of a classic dessert crowned with some crunchy, gooey, or chocolaty magic. Instead? I was handed a crime scene.
The toppings—if you can call them that—were inside the pint. Mixed in, like some sad, chaotic stew of confusion. Caramel sauce swimming at the bottom, crushed cookies barely clinging to life on the sides, gummy bears drowned mid-scoop like shipwreck survivors. Is this a science experiment? Are we layering sediment for fossil records?
Let me be clear: the word is topping, not “middling,” not “embedded,” not “buried treasure.” The entire point is for the toppings to be on top—where eyes can see them and spoons can meet them first. It’s a reward. A celebration. Not a game of hide and seek.
Also, effective immediately: you are banned from placing toppings inside pints. If the topping isn’t on top, it’s not a topping—it’s a betrayal.
0/10. Ruined my day and made me...
