The food here is usually pretty good. That is this place's only saving grace. That and a woman who works the line- think her name is Brittany. She has dreads. She looks like one of the managers and she is the only person there with any sense of professionalism. If a woman named Ms.Linsy/Madea walks up to take your order, request a different server. She's awful. We sat right at that bar so we were able to see how she would take our order then walk away to just joke around with her coworkers or flirt and laugh at another table. She brought us coffees then walked away to flirt at another table. We waited 3 minutes before a girl named Shawn saw that we weren't drinking and offered to get us cream. The restaurant was busy that morning so our food took about 20 minutes to come to the table. I have been a server and my husband manages an upscale restaurant so I understand that sometimes the line (the cooks) get a little busy and it takes longer for food to come out. But as a server I always did my part to make sure everything I could control was perfect and that the guest felt taken care of and as a guest that is what j expect. She never asked if we wanted coffee refills. She never brought more cream. She never brought straws for my daughter. I wanted to tip 0% but the old server in me still have her 10%. I don't think that Shawn or Brittany take tables but I wish we could have had them instead. I can see how hard they work and would have loved to have a competent server that I could actually tip 30+%. We will probably still come for the food but I refuse to have her as a server next time. Obviously anyone that puts Madea on her name tag and shoves her coworkers behind the line doesn't take anything seriously and isn't going to provide a good...
Read moreI have not been to a Waffle House since the early 90s. I was unfamiliar with the restaurant and I expected to find an expansive menu with crazy options. It’s your ordinary diner, find a seat and everything else is straight forward. Everyone in the kitchen was hustling- not one person standing around and all the waiters kept asking to get their plates completed. One loud patron demanded to get food quickly and someone told them to be patient, both laughed afterwards. Food plate was alright, extra points for crispy bacon. The biscuits and gravy were nothing to write home about. I came here out of curiosity knowing well this is not a Snooze/ First Watch/Toasted Yolk concept restaurant, let alone Disneyland. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was affordable, not high as other breakfast diners. If I thought my experience here was very mundane, it was brightened up Mimi, our waitress. I came here for a quick breakfast and thought it would be fun to revisit an old locale I used to be fond of as a kid. Mimi, like the people behind the counter, is all the best that I remember: neighbors, community, smiles, a break from the outside world, conviviality. Mimi was very attentive to our needs and made pleasant talk. Even though a diner can be hectic( everyone is rushing orders for take out, delivery, questions and remarks thrown into the air) Mimi kept her cool and just focused on service. For this event being the first time we met and possibly the last, she made it seem like it didn’t matter, she was here to make the entire experience pleasant.
If you’re looking for a no frills, quick breakfast experience this is it. As for the staff morning staff, they are working their butts off to make your...
Read moreIt seems she's the manager (Linzy or something, I couldn't figure out her name clearly Cuz she was always distant from me) Didn't get a good reception from her the moment I walked in, she kept mean mugging me the entire time I spent dining. Was observing the whole process of my order been prepared, my food stood there for 3min after been prepared before she served it to me. She dropped my ticket on the table while I was eating, I placed my card on the ticket. The ticket and my card was on the tale for exactly 6min 48sec after I was done eating and she stood there doing nothing, she also noticed I was done eating. This isn't my first time dining at this location, never had such attitude or any negative experience with none of the employees there before. Normally, whoever serves me makes couple trips back to my table asking if everything's going well or if there's anything else I may need and m ticket and card are normally picked up, processed and brought back to me, she instead constantly mugging me. When I called her attention that I need my ticket checked out, from afar, she said you have to get up and come to the checkout. Ok, kool. I went to the checkout, she walked away and another employee by the name BRITTANY checked me out.... As a manager, I think you should be the pace setter for your employees to follow. Is ridiculous how your employees are well mannered than you. It's a shame. I don't think I'll visit that...
