We frequent Alex’s Cucina on a regular basis. I’ll start with what every positive review sounds like, bc it needs to be said, so be patient. The food is always fresh and cooked to perfection. When you dine-in the service is on-point with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re at a cafe in Italy. Staff lets you take your time, drink your byob and enjoy great conversation. In a recent blind study, their garlic knots were rated #1 and I’m Knot Kidding.
The portion sizes are designed to feed a baby elephant. Although I’ve yet to see a baby elephant come in, they would certainly enjoy it. The food has a culinary presentation and taste that stimulates your senses to the max. Every time, every dish.
There’s a pleasant, middle-aged, Italian woman who runs the front of the house like a Navy captain runs a ship. No detail is missed and every customer that comes in seems to know her. Maybe she was on American Idol Italian edition back in the day, bc she’s quite the celebrity. Her husband, yes, the man himself, Alex runs the back of the house. The flare he puts on every dish is something your tastebuds will thank you for days. From take out always done right, to an exceptional dine-in experience, Alex’s Cucina is the spot! Plenty of parking next to Shop-rite, Family Owned and a BYOB, nuff said! They also give back to the community on a regular basis. From local police to little league , they are the true definition of a...
Read moreSadly, Emilio's by Alex is dead. It is now called Alex's Cucina, which is fine. We have gone there for years. A nice dining area. A good meal. Pleasant music. Now, it's all one thing. They redesigned, losing the quaint dining room and leaving an open area with no music. Worse yet, while trying to enjoy our meal, we get to listen to News 12 blaring in our ears. With each bite, we get to listen to Governor Murphy, traffic reports, and Coronavirus news. How pleasant. I begged the waitress to turn off the tv. After 15-20 minutes, she lowered it a little. Got to hear about the coronavirus at a lower volume. Why on earth would I waste my time and money (prices went up along with the tv volume)? Never again. Dining is more than the food. I thought they would get that. I guess not. I have edited my review to add an extra star for the food quality. While the dining experience is horrific, the food is excellent. If you want to pick up and bring home, light a candle and put on some nice music, enjoy. It just won't happen at...
Read moreDon't expect to get the 120 per $1 points on Fetch if you order your meal from Alex's Cucina on Alex's Cucina website. Apparently, they contract with an outside company who processes their orders and your credit card. Therefore, Alex's Cucina cannot fulfill their advertised obligation to give you a correct receipt to upload to Fetch. The girl at the counter is young and only following directions, but the person (manager, owner?) she called has no apparent knowledge of the companies they are contracted with or their requirements. Her only (constantly repeated) advice is to call "Slice", which is the company they are contracted with, even though the customer may not even know who they are. They did ABSOLUTELY nothing to help or even seem to understand what was going on.
So, if you choose to purchase from Alex's Cucina, and you are a Fetch member expecting to get your bonus points, you MUST GO INSIDE AND ORDER IN THE STORE AND PAY IN THE STORE. It's unfortunate that this restaurant is ignorant of their...
