What’s up guys this is your boy Vida. Today I found a local Mexican restaurant called Pepe’s. this place can be found in Huber Heights Ohio check out the pictures below and you’ll get all the information on how to visit this awesome restaurant.
I was driving by when I saw the sign Pepe‘s Mexican flavors and I just had to stop in. Me being of Latino descent I was excited for the possibilities of a good authentic Mexican food. I’ve been to a few places here in Ohio and some have left me with more questions than answers and most likely won’t return to those places.
When we walked in the staff was very friendly super friendly :-) and happy to see us. I felt like I was walking into a family members dining room. I ordered some Carne Asada tacos For the Mrs. and I ordered myself a Carne Asada torta with no refried beans. I ordered three bottles of Tamarindo soda which is so hard to come by but my favorite soda of all time. We ordered our food and it came up to less than $30 and sat inside to eat.
While we waited for food I asked if I could take pictures and video of my experience. I told the staff that I was a Content creator and that I just wanted to record my experience there. They reached out to their owner and manager Jazline Gomez and she was fantastic.
she even offered us free taste of her homemade trademarked ice cream the Mangonada which was fantastic and I put pictures in the description so you could see it. The Carne Asada was cooked to perfection full of flavor. my torta bread was like no other bread I have tasted in all of Ohio it was beautifully toasted buttered nicely and had a bite that bites back from crispy get soft on the inside and cradled every ounce of the ingredients and sauces and vegetables of that torta a perfectly!
Overall the experience at Pepes was one that really made me feel welcome. It is a small family owned business and you can see the love and pride as everything was clean and beautiful, the colors were rich and vibrant nice spanish music playing as you eat and conversations of people passing by or eating were just so authentic that you felt like home. I would recommend this place to anybody and if you ever visit the Ohio area definitely Drive over and take a trip to Pepe’s you will be incredibly happy...
Read moreI wanted to LOVE this place as their menu has authentic Mexican food for Dayton-menudo, caldo de res, chile relleno, and the best of the best desserts, but after an hour and a half wait with only two others customers in the restaurant, I am livid. We ordered: carne asada burrito-got ground beef instead Supreme french fries with steak-got ground beef instead Menudo had 0 white corn/hominy in it and took a long time ordered SIX TAMALES, 3 chicken, 3 pork a horchata and a jarrito elotes in a cup
ALL IN SPANISH. I speak Spanish fluently and the lady refused to acknowledge me-okay that's fine speak back to me in English but speak to everyone else in Spanish ???
tamales took an hour and a half and at first, we were willing to wait because those were to-go anyway. Then two people came in, a white woman and a Mexican man, the woman wanted tamales and they told her it would be a wait. They served her a tamale first!!!!!!!!!!!!! and then told me mine were ready. She packed FOUR. Charged me for SIX-I ordered SIX. I get that it's less than $5, but if you made that mistake shouldn't you fix it? I even tipped over 20%. I got home and saw she only gave me four tamales, I called back, spoke in FLUENT Spanish about the situation that had happened-she told me to come back and pick up more tamales up
I drive all the way back, she had a box of SIX tamales ready to go on the counter but is helping other customers speaking to everyone else in Spanish. I told her the situation AGAIN in FLUENT SPANISH. She plays dumb and speaks to me in broken English, gets mad at me, tells me to pay for the tamales. I say NO. You only gave me 4 and then charged me for 6. This woman was insanely rude and I honestly don't think I can come back after what happened. No apology, no trying to fix it, she literally tried to charge me for more. They also don't wipe down any tables or clean anything here FYI for everyone trying to dine in.
Hablé contigo en español y tu lo ignoraste. Fuiste extremadamente grosero por un error que cometiste. Tu sabes quien eres. Espero que veas esto...
Read moreIn the beginning I loved this place and I love Ida she is awesome and a great cook and very very nice. The food is great don’t get me wrong I love the food. Which is why it is so sad that they have terrible terrible service. I went yesterday 8/23 at 2:50pm and I was not greeted for 20 minutes. They did not offer me any help or any assistance and I had to ask if I can order. Two ladies told me they would be with me and they never did help me only the young cashier who came in for her shift helped. One of the ladies that works there was actually getting food for herself and making it during the time that she was still working and she was trying to have the cashier ring her out before me which I am the customer. That lady told me she would help me but no she only helped herself which is completely unprofessional. I can’t believe somebody who is on the clock will work on their meal and not on the customers and then still expect to be rang out before a customer. I was super upset and honestly I’m waiting for the manager to send me a message because this is unacceptable. They were rude and completely ignored me. There was four ladies there and none of them helped me only the young cashier. And this is an only time the previous time my husband went they treated him like complete garbage and ignored him. Hopefully the manager contact me so that I can have a conversation with her. No I do not recommend this place for this exact reason. Their customer service is just going...
