True Texas BBQ — Restaurant in Hudson Oaks

The menu is hard to decipher and we had to stand out in the hot sun to order. It was also hard to see the menu because we were outside in the sun . We took our food home and there might’ve been a tablespoon of barbecue meat. We ordered what we thought was sides of coleslaw and beans but it was smooched on top of the bottom bun. It was so soggy you couldn’t eat it so I basically had barbecue salad. The Potato salad is very mayonnaisey and tastes from a box and was terrible. It is not a Texas barbecue at all. Twice the flavor at half the price. Last week I took my son to one of those trendy chain BBQ joints and it wasn't what we expected. True Texas had those chain stores beat hands down! The brisket was tender and smoky with a beautiful crust and the perfect smoke ring. Ordered door dash pick up so it would be ready. Got a text it was ready. Showed up and was told that now that I was there- They would get it ready. That placing my order online basically did nothing because this way "the food is still hot". You know who got hot? Me waiting outside 15 minutes in the baking August sun to pick up an order I had made 20 minutes before so I wouldn't have to wait baking in the sun. Make it make sense.
