La Playa Maya Hudson Oaks — Restaurant in Hudson Oaks

If I could give zero stars I would. Service was absolutely terrible. Waited over an hour and never received our food. The appetizer was disgusting. We got the Queso Flameado. It seemed as if they left it out after they heated it up, the oils separated because it cooled, and when she tried to light it on fire it had coagulated back into one giant chunk. The server looked like she was going to cry the entire time. She even said “Oops, this isn’t right” before serving us 4 of the greasiest tortillas stuffed with greasy chewy cheese and flavorless chicken. When we sent it back and ordered something else, the manager came and argued with me saying that “cheese is just greasy. That’s how it is here”. Now, I’m no cheese expert, but 12 years of food service and management have taught me when you heat cheese and then it’s cooled, the oils separate and it gets rubbery. This woman seriously had the audacity to come and tell me I was wrong and that it’s just cheese. After that we ordered fajitas and another margarita and waited what felt like half an hour, only receiving the margarita in that time. It had no alcohol. Tasted like straight up margarita mix and nothing else. We ended up walking out when we saw someone else seated, served, eat, pay, and leave before we even got our entrees. Will surely...

I’ve been coming in here for years and have never had bad service till today. The restaurant was not busy but it took 10 minutes to get chips and salsa. The waitress showed up 10 minutes later and asked for my drink order. I was ready to place my order for food and drink at this time. She left to get my drink. When I placed my order, she came back 10-15 minutes later asking what I ordered. When the food arrived I asked for more salsa, because I’ve been eating chips for 30 minutes, never got any salsa! Frustrated, I only ate half of my food and asked for a box and the check. The waitress never came back! The lady behind the counter saw me looking for her and brought my check. I asked for a box which she brought. I’m not irritated by slow service when things are busy but I felt like this waitress didn’t care ! Her failure to get even the mundane tasks right was upsetting. I will NOT be back...

First of all the door was lock when we arrived. The website said they closed at 11, it was 9:30. I ordered enchiladas, and cheese dip. Both came out cold. My cheese was not melted in my enchiladas. I asked my waitress if she could put them in the microwave. It took forever for my food to get back to me. Which BTW it was microwaved, which is what I asked for however that never happens. And it sure shouldn’t take 15-20 mins to microwave. There was only 2 people waiting tables on a Friday night. Our waitress told us and the table next to us that the kitchen was closed. I am not sure what that was about. They wait staff looked exhausted!!!! When we went to pay the girl was one her phone and didn’t even realize we were standing in front of her. WHAT is happening to La Playa in Weatherford? This place has really gone down since one of the managers left I guess...
