Recently I had lunch at Jaipur Junction of Hudson specializing in North Indian Cuisine. Jaipur Junction is located at the west side of the Hudson Plaza Shopping Center.
If you are entering Hudson on Main Street/Darrow Road, turn west on Streetsboro Street. Hudson Plaza Shopping Center is on the south side of Streetsboro Street.
There is plenty of free off-street parking available in Hudson Plaza Shopping Center.
Jaipur Junction is definitely a five star Indian restaurant. The depth of flavor and the presentation of the food is incredible. The kitchen staff and the wait staff do a great job of creating a memorable dining experience. This was my first visit to Jaipur Junction, I will return for more great food and great service too.
I started my dining experience with the Paneer Tikka Dry appetizer. WOW! The flavor and presentation of the appetizer is amazing. The appetizer consists of cubes of roasted cheese and roasted vegetables presented on a sizzling platter. See the video of the appetizer I posted under the PHOTO tab.
My entree is Shahi Sabzi Biryani - a vegetable Biryani with Saffron. YUMMY! When you place your order Jaipur Junction offers five spice levels to select from. The Biryani comes with a side of a refreshing cucumber yogurt sauce. They present you with a generous portion of Biryani. It was so flavorful, I finished it at the table. Many diners will take a portion home to enjoy later. I enjoyed a Mango Lassi as my beverage.
I ordered the Olive and Basil Naan to enjoy with my meal. The Jaipur Junction menu lists many flavors of Naan and other breads. You enjoy a slice of olive with every bite of the Naan. A diner does not need to search for the olives in this Naan. Very tasty.
I finished off this excellent meal with the Kulfi Ice cream. The ice cream is flavored with Pistachios, Cashews and Saffron. A tasty way to cleanse your palate.
I visited Jaipur Junction on a weekday, while I was dining in folks came in for take-away orders.
If you enjoy Indian food, you will enjoy the flavors and the presentation of your meal at Jaipur Junction. Unfortunately, since Covid-19, they no longer offer a lunch buffet. Fortunately, their menu has many, many delicious items to choose from.
The restaurant and the Men's room are clean. The decor is nice. This is not a new restaurant so the furniture is not shiny and new. The furniture is...
Read moreAs a customer familiar to Blu Basil, I was rather disappointed with the service today. It was six in our group and our waitress #1, took our order mentally and did not write down anything. This was my first concern. It took over 40 minutes for our waitress #2, to bring some of our meals out. The order was missing items mentioned to the Waitress #1 handling our order. To add more insult to injury, when the forgotten meal was brought out everyone else at the table had already finished their meal and were disappointed because the meals were not made as requested, (all medium spice), all the meals were mild. Lastly, upon requesting for take-home boxes we felt discriminated, due to not being provided containers as the restaurant guests around us, we were given very tiny sandwich boxes, which made us feel discriminated, and I had to go up to the counter to request for larger boxes. I noticed there were plenty, so I have no idea why the counter waitress would provide us with very tiny sandwich containers. The owner of the business, I actually met her when she had first purchased the business from Jaipur Junction, remodeled, and changed the name of the business. I have been here on several occasions and I can honestly say the service is lacking. The lighting has became darker, and the menu print is very small, and upon asking questions about the different meals, the description often misrepresents the actual ingredients upon looking at the actual meal. I believe the staff needs more training, they must write down orders, they possibly need another cook on the busy days, and possibly, less waitresses to ensure the money is going toward the cooks. I don’t know if I’ll be returning with any friends or family...
Read moreI’ve had this many times as take out and this is one of my favorite go to. The food was again wonderful and that is not the reason for my one star review. The service inside was TERRIBLE, the lady who originally started to serve us was rude and very impatient, she asked us if we were ready 3 times in the first 2 minutes we sat down. We told her we would let her know, when we did flag her down (which she seemed like she was purposely ignoring us) she held up a finger like “one second” and then a gentlemen came to take our order not her. He was perfect and nice and took our order, brought out our drinks and appetizers. When our dinner came she put down a full basket of naan and with absolutely no comment from me or my dinner date she just goes “didn’t you know four pieces per naan”. Absolutely rude, I order 2 naan and my dinner date ordered 1 garlic naan, I wanted one to eat there and to take home. I just felt super embarrassed like she thought we didn’t know. When I went to take a piece the whole basket was garlic naan. I brought it to the gentleman’s attention and he was apologetic and said he would fix it. A few minutes later he came back with super uncooked and soggy. At this point it was worthless to send it back so we just didn’t eat it. Then when we asked for the bill, she cut us off when we were about to ask for it to be split, bring back only one receipt, we then go “we really wanted this split” and she got annoyed so again we just go “we’ll figure it out” and we gave her one card. I will never eat...
