Well, the only difference the renovation made was in appearance. They have almost 0 organic products and a lot of the products they have here seem to be outdated or a nasty condition.
They renovated the entire store. It looks quite nice and most things are in refrigerated glass doors. However, their purchaser is doing a terrible job. Their healthier options are still garbage and yet quite expensive. I wanted to get them more all natural chocolate hazelnut spread. They just donāt carry it here we carry an artificially sweetened one and the junk Nutella one. If you want to get free range organic or eight dollars and change per dozen. Why arenāt they carrying local eggs? Thereās a lot of local farmers that are certified and supply other grocery stores in the area where you can get free range Pasteur raised Organic for a lot less than eight dollars and change. same thing with their yogurt they have a pretty big selection but nothing thatās very healthy. Everything is high sugar or artificial sweetener. The top quality brands with cleaner ingredients. They just donāt even carry it. Itās always disappointing. Every time I come into the store.
They're having their grand opening at Acme today. The store has really had a huge turn around. It looks amazing. Now all refrigerated items are in enclosed refrigerated units. It's very clean and crisp. Looking like a really nice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited the Hudson store around 6pm on 5/10. The sanitation wipe stations at both doors were empty. I also did not see any evidence that the store was cleaning carts after or before each customer's use. They were pooled unattended outside the doors as usual.
I should have left at that point, but I didn't. Once inside about 60% of the customers were not wearing face coverings. I watched a woman pulling products from the shelves and hold them close to her face to read the ingredients. She then returned them to the shelf.
Several employees had their masks below there nose or chin, including both the cashier and bagger that were working.
I have shopped at this location for over a decade. I have a family of 6 that includes two teenage boys. My monthly food bill is obscene. Most of that money ends up at this store.
It's clear that Acme does not care about the lives or safety of their customers. That's their decision. Mine will be to take my shopping elsewhere. Costco is nearly as close and they have been looking out for their customers. They will be receiving...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI heard about ACME all the time on radio and learned that they are family owned and local. We have one in my town. I drove by it all the time and I really want to support a local business. But it's just not happening. The place look so depressing and operated by kids that look like they'd rather be anywhere else on earth than working there. Today's interaction at the self checkout went like this:
Me:Hello Staff: what now Me: I selected the wrong type of product and need a correction Staff: no that's the only one we have. Me: (proceed to find the thing and chose the correct one. ) this is what I have here please take the other one that's 2x the cost off. Staff: (adds more of the wrong thing while complaining something about there should only be one thing and one price, then deleted both) Me: thank you Staff: i don't know (walks away)
Now I remember why I rather drive all the way to giant eagle in the next town for my shopping. I'll probably forget again in a few years and try this place...
