I'm a disabled combat Veteran. I heard a lot about this seafood restaurant as I was recovering from gun shot wounds to my neck etc. for over a year as I recovered at West Roxbury VA howaaah. So I decided to visit Boston and staying the weekend I went to Jake's Seafood Restaurant. The Ambience is of course Boston seafare. The wait was another issue, they don't provide VIP service for disabled Vets. They do have a wheelchair issue for the men's room. I waited two hours to be seated as the Hostess kept the Tables 3 or more as the Ticket Average is higher. Once I got seated the Wait staff serving me thanked me for my service. Yes I'm wearing my military hat. Wish I had my Trump 2020 T shirt lol. So the entree' I chosed was the seafood platter. Delicious! Fresh and tender. I asked for extra scallops double the amount. How much is that I asked and the double portion was served with out a price quote. Overall I'd say yes I'd visit again but I'd go earlier then 1800hrs as I got a table just after 2000 hrs. I had to stand most of the time as the bench kept full as many who came in after me where seated. So I'm on the fence about the kindness to me as a disabled combat veteran. We should get ViP service. Until the server thanked me for my service no one even wanted to look at me for three days, they look away or ignore my disability. Massachusetts is not Veteran friendly. Next time I'm in Massachusetts I'm proudly wearing my Trump For President 2020!! From 1700 to 1930 the wait time was 45 mino 2-3 and 30m above 4 for...

A little harsh but it was for shock value. This was my second occasion at this restaurant, once by myself, another with a friend and both times I’ve received off-putting vibes from the host who I assume to be the owner at the front taking names. Both times he seemed to begrudgingly acknowledge my existence and not-at-all-subtly looked down with a deep sigh before looking up and curtly asking my party size… it felt like such an intrusion you’d think he was paying me to be there! I’ve read other TripAdvisor reviews who also commented on the host who appeared like they didn’t want to be there.
What (almost) made up for the discomfort was the reasonably priced food, fresh ingredients, overall friendly service and the bread pudding! Oysters: 8/10 bread pudding with the bourbon glaze 9/10: one of the best I’ve had Chowder: 9/10! One of the best I’ve had! Crab cakes: 7.5/10: meaty & has potential but the oil did not taste fresh/clean Lobster roll: 4/10 not skimpy, but cold lobster on toasted buttered bread? 🚮
Sean and Sean (both of my servers ironically had the same name 😂😂) were honestly rockstars and super attentive! Staff overall were very friendly and nice. Window or Outdoor patio seating during the sunset is a must! It’s unfortunate that it looks like it’ll be a place I just order dessert to-go and take my business elsewhere. Just didn’t sit well with my spirit, especially...
Read moreFisherman platter disappointed. All the fried food nothing was seasoned. I don't recall ever having a problem but we got seafood platters, onion rings, calamari. No seasoning more money less food. We had sunglasses on when the sun went down. Sitting facing toward town we were no lie blinded by the light. Having dessert with a hand up and wearing sunglasses at night at a table inside a restaurant, after eating fried seafood that was somehow unsalted. Back to the sun for a sec, how has it just been ignored the customers are completely blinded for years with no correction. The waitress seemed to feel se might betoo good for us and maybe she just couldn't pretend she wasn't. Felt like an IHOP for 36 a plate only no flavor. Kids running around blinding light that everyone just pretends isn't as irritating as staring directly at the sun. The cheesecake is usually the grand finally but none chocolate cake and one other. Ganache cake from somewhere in Boston. Ganache was good. I've never ordered cake for dessert because i really don't eat cake. Too much money for disappointment after disappointment. Through in a frozen pizza and finished with a beautiful dessert from my friends Ben and Jerry. Maybe they need to play something like, Push it, in the restaurant kitchen for dinner service so they don't forget salt and pepper here and they're in effect. So they'll push it real good and pick up on...
