It was so good it was a spiritual experience. Brought my daughter in for a late lunch. The guy doing the beginning didn’t skimp on the meat and was patient as my daughter ordered her kids meal. The young woman doing the toppings was the nicest person in the service industry I’ve met in years, also not skimping on the toppings. I asked how she was doing and she actually said she was having a really good day and asked me how I was with sincerity. As I bounced back and forth making sure my daughter could handle ordering what she wanted and addressing my own, Shania noticed my Star Wars shirt and we starting talking about our mutual interest. She recently watched all the movies. I told her how awesome Andor was to watch. My daughter got her toppings and we went to pay. Some other worker jumped on the register to take care of herself, and Shania patiently waited the extra moment. We kept talking about Star Wars while the credit card machine couldn’t read my chip. I gave up after the third try and just paid with a $50. Shania gave me my change and we took our food to go. My daughter got distracted on the way out by a customer in a pretty blue dress and paid her a compliment. We were in a hurry so I didn’t notice I hadn’t received $20 of my change until getting back to the house. I also didn’t notice I left my daughter’s drink on the top of my car until some random kind guy on the sidewalk pointed it out to me before it fell. I used the whole thing to suggest to my daughter that the delightfully positive experience of receiving and giving blessings was in my perception a result of continuous prayer and all those involved being aligned with God’s will. Then we got home. I noticed the missing $20. I wasn’t sure if I had perhaps dropped it jumping out of the car to get the drink off the roof, but I didn’t think so. I intentionally had to not let my mind’s proclivity of thinking the worst, and expressing as much, ruin the experience or teaching moment with my daughter. Also, I was part of the various distractions and know I make all sorts of mistakes being distracted. The $50 had been a gift, and I’ve been blessed so it didn’t seem right to get bent out of shape about it. Hours later, I decided to go back to Cava and see if I could get the $20. The only prof I had of my visit was a half eaten bowl. I recklessly don’t bother with receipts. I explained what I believed happened to who seemed like a manager, half expecting to be told “too bad”. She took the time to listen, find my order in the system based on the info I gave her, let me show her the 76¢ I got in change, believed me when I said I only got $9 on top of that, and gave me the missing $20. The whole thing supports my hope that the world isn’t going to crap and there are some beautiful people hidden all...
Read moreSo, we are normally big fans of cava but this most recent experience will ensure that we never come back. We ordered take out and arrive a little early so our food wasn’t ready. No big deal. We waiting 5 minutes and when the female to-go line server finished our 2 bowls, we noticed that some of the ingredients, mainly the sauces, were switched. We got the attention of another male employee, who was very kind and trying to help us figure out what had been switched and we just asked for an extra side of sauce to ensure we both got the correct amount. The gentleman offered to remake it but we didn’t feel it was necessary. Meanwhile, the employee who made the food came over and basically demanded the food wasn’t wrong and that the stickers were switched. When we explained that very clearly it was wrong, she stormed away. As we continued to problem solve with the gentleman, she walked back over, ripped the food out of her coworkers hands and said “I’ll just remake it, they don’t know what they are talking about” right in front of us!! The coworker apologized to us for her but it was just so so rude. I work in the service industry, I understand being stressed but that’s absolutely no excuse for her behavior. She then remade the bowls in a huff, then when she handed us them to us, she just throws in there “we are out of black lentils” and walks away! No apology for being rude. Had she not snatched the already made food from us and just listened to us that we didn’t need new bowls, just the correct number of sauces, it would have been fine. We have had issues with the service before, but this was extreme. We left feeling so uncomfortable. The new bowls that she made had such little chicken and also didn’t have our free side pitas, which the original bowls had. We love the food at cava but this will ensure that we never come back to this location. We didn’t catch the woman’s name or the name of the much kinder guy who tried to help us but the whole interaction was so so disrespectful, disappointing, and...
Read moreBeen coming here for a few years, usually for lunch. Food used to be great, prices were fair-ish, and customer service was on point. I've noticed service, food quality, cleanliness decline in the past 12 months and after today, won't be coming back. Customer service is poor at best, no personality, almost as if I'm a bother coming in as a customer. Order the Grains and Greens bowl, they did away with the braised lamb (too much prep time?) and settled for the spicy lamb. When asked about toppings I picked a couple, including the pickled onions... the tray was pretty much empty and I saw the female employee literally scrape the bottom bits and pinch together a pitiful bunch of onions and slop it onto my bowl. She didn't ask another employee to replace the tray with a new, full one either. When it came time to pay, I felt, at $30 (for lunch), it was more expensive than it had been in the past. At some point in time one of the things I picked must have cost extra, but I was never informed. When I asked for a receipt, the machine wasn't working and blank sheets were being spit out. Also noticed random receipts laying all over the counter near the register. The lemonade didn't taste fresh, napkin holders were empty (all of them). It's obvious owners stopped caring about this location and are hiring the bottom of the barrel just to stay functional. The prices are over the top and the food quality isn't as good as it used to be overall. I'm very displeased and this latest occurrence was the last straw. Plenty of other choices in the area, don't make this place one of your stops, at least not, until things...
