I must say the main reason for this review , from my experience would be the server by the name of Andrew. Extremely knowledgeable and detailed 👌🏾 about the menu. We came in a group of 10 ladies in matching shirts. Andrew even cared to ask what the acronyms on our shirts stood for. He seen I was extremely indecisive, as I asked him to go around the whole table and then make it back to me, before i could order. He joked and told me he knew what I was going to order, wrote it down, didn't show me and after attending to the other ladies he made his way back. I told him what I wanted and to my surprise he actually knew what I wanted before I said anything. 😌 . He made sure we were well taken care of. In addition to the pretty melanin woman who sat us down. The appetizers : tuna nachos they were mind blowing. Cheesy artichoke dip and warm tortilla chips are a masterpiece. I ordered the lemon chicken which was just okay to me I hate to say it but it reminded me of a turkey tv dinner (sheesh that sound horrible but I'm being honest ) I was looking for thick chicken breast seasoned with mashed potatoes. I ordered salad instead of the veggies. The salad for me was the best part. The outdoor seating with the view of the village 👌🏾 probably my new go to spot if ever in NC again. I'd stick to one of the two appetizers and a salad 🥗 😋.
The other ladies ranging from steak /salmon/ pasta did not complain over their food. Plates were cleaned. So I'm guessing it was good to them as well.
Again main reason for the review the server Andrew. Go ahead and give him a raise he is good at what he does. I can see him as a manager. /co-owner. Keeping him around will keep people returning !!!!!!!!
Be blessed ! No pictures taken...
Read moreMy wife and I went out for Valentine's Day and randomly found Red Rocks Birkdale. We didn't have a reservation but It was early enough that we got a table. I ordered the 11 ounce strip medium rare with garlic mashed and steamed broccoli. It appeared on the Valentine's Day menu in a 3 course format. I had a Caesars's salad and chocolate cake.
The garlic mashed was superior. The brocoli was well-cooked and not overly seasoned. The steak was very good but got to the table medium (Which I generally expect when I'm not at a steakhouse steakhouse). Solid but unspectacular. Grill marks were very well-done. Cross pattern very sexy, presentation-wise. Salad was meh.
My wife had the chilli as an appetizer. The beans were soft but not mushy. It was closer to a soup consistency than a cowboy clumpy thickness but the depth of flavor was really layered and sophisticated. Well-done.
Her entré was Cajun Chicken Pasta. It was full of peppers and onions and a good amount of chicken. Think a better, more sophisticated Cheesecake Factory pasta. Flavor was good. Portion was large (Reheated well at home and still good).
The star of the night was the chocolate cake. Extraordinarily rich, very decadent, and beautifully presented. It wasn't large but it was so rich it took both of us to finish. VERY satisfying.
Our waiter Rayshaun was spot on. Very informed, very attentive, very engaging. He had quite a few tables, but was very helpful concerning the menu and cocktail list. Definite 5-Star service.
Ambience was good. not a hush level restaurant. Noisy enough to have legit conversation and not be overheard but not chain restaurant loud. Tables were well-spaced.
In all, a very palatable experience. We will certainly return....
Read moreI walked into the restaurant for lunch, having a beer in a plastic cup that I had from Fox&Hound (across the street). The hostesses said nothing about my beer, but hey, Red Rocks has a sign on their front door PROMOTING their selling “drinks-to-go”. So, the hostess seats me with my party. The waiter (great guy) comes up and takes my drink order. He jests “oh, you already have a drink”. I said, it will be empty momentarily, so I order a beer. All good up to this point. A few minutes later, someone pokes me on the shoulder (saying nothing before hand). I look up and this woman (looks like a Karen) says, “you can’t have outside drinks in here.”. She doesn’t introduce herself before hand. Yet she felt entitled to poke me? She said to either drink it up now or she’d have to remove it. So, I drank the last gulp. Then she takes my cup away. After lunch was finished, I ask my waiter for a to-go cup for my beer. He said that costs a $1. I ask him to tell the lady (manager) to give me the empty cup she took away from me. So, he did so. He was a really guys guy. Anyway, KAREN returns with a new plastic cup and announces that SHE is omitting the $1 charge and giving me the cup. I told her that she was not “giving me anything” and that she was “replacing the cup she incorrectly took from me”. I told her she was being petty over nothing. I was with a 91 year old and a 60 year old. We were just enjoying a nice day of shopping and lunch, until this KAREN ruined my day. Noonish...
