Zero Zero 39 Pizzeria – Authentic Flavor, Naturally Perfect
Zero Zero 39 Pizzeria in Huntington Beach is an absolute gem. Their pizza is truly something special—made with natural, high-quality ingredients that shine in every bite. The flavor is fantastic, the crust is perfectly balanced, and you can really taste the care that goes into their recipes. It’s that rare combination of rustic authenticity and gourmet execution.
What really sealed the deal for me? The gluten-free mini red velvet cake. It was a stunning surprise—rich, moist, and beautifully balanced. You’d never guess it was gluten-free. It felt like the perfect finish to an already amazing meal.
From the food to the atmosphere, Zero Zero 39 delivers excellence. If you’re looking for a pizzeria that respects tradition while serving up big flavor, this is it. I’ll be back again and again.
I’ve had this place multiple times and they never disappoint. I would actually say that this is the best pizza on the West Coast. It’s definitely the best pizza I’ve had in Canada. I can’t emphasize the quality of the ingredients and the taste is just delightful!
Update: I have now attended this location six times and every time I go into this restaurant I always come out with a smile on my face and a full belly. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. This is hands-down, my favorite pizza in North America. I have been to many pizza joints, and I drive at least an hour out of my way just to go here. Besides having excellent staff, the food, including the desserts are just exceptional. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. Bravissimo! Encore!
Update 2: Today, I was really feeling like a salad — something fresh, honest, and full of life. I knew exactly where to go. Zero Zero 39 doesn’t just make food — they craft it with intention. Their Caprese salad is a perfect example: vibrant tomatoes, lush basil, creamy mozzarella — simple, yes, but deeply thoughtful. You can tell they care about their ingredients, and to me, that means they’re also putting care, kindness, and good energy into every dish.
That’s why I keep coming back. It’s not just about taste — it’s about spirit. There’s an Italian philosophy here — of family, of friendship, of living well and living wholesomely. Being new to America, and to California, this place has been a blessing. The owners have always made me feel welcome, like I belong. That kind of warmth isn’t something you find just anywhere, but I’ve always found it here.
After traveling 1,600 miles, I can’t tell you how great it felt to have a meal that was not only delicious, but made from such pure, nourishing ingredients. Their pizza is excellent, but their salads? Their salads are like sunshine in a box.
And the experience doesn’t stop with the food — they’ve even got these cool wooden keychains that link directly to their website when you scan them. It’s simple, thoughtful tech, and honestly, I love it.
Overall, this isn’t just a pizzeria. It’s a little pocket of light. And today, I tasted that light — in every bite. Thank you,...
Read moreIf you love pizza like I do, here's an authentic Roman style pizzeria located in downtown Surf City (Huntington Beach, CA) We spoke to Carlota whom together with her husband, both originally from Rome, Italy own a and operate this small business.
The service was quick and friendly. The rectangle shaped pizzas are already made, so this makes it the perfect place to grab a quick bite.
Also, you can have a custom made to order pizza if you choose. One block from the famous HB pier near the corner of Main Street and Olive is where this little gem is located.
Let's dive in to the experience my wife and I had at ZeroZero39 today for lunch. When we walked in the first thing I noticed it wasn't very big inside with limitted seating near the windows. They do have outside seating available, which is where we sat and enjoyed the beautiful perfect Sunny Sothern California Fall day weather at 72 degrees.
There was the dispay case with all the different types of pizza and this great looking artisan baked bread which caught my attention. I really love fresh baked bread!
We were greeted by Carlota. She was very helpful and pleasant as she described the several different choices of thin crust pizzas 🍕 😀. If you like thick crust pizza, this is not the place for you. However, if you enjoy a thin light crispy crust, you are in for a treat! With all the options we were able to narrow it down to the Truffle Porcini, Margarita with fresh tomato and basil, Pesto Onion and that wonderful artisan baked bread. Each slice of the rectangle shaped pizza is cut with get this, a pair of scissors! Fast and efficient. The bread was soft and wam on the inside with a golden brown flakey thin crust on the outside that crunched with every bite. It was pre-sliced and served with olive oil. Delicious.
The Truffle Porcini was tasty. The Margarita was good, too. My favorite of the three slices that my wife and I selected was the Pesto-Onion. The red onions worked well with the fresh pesto. You definitely taste the red onions, but not too overpowering. The edge of the slices were extra crispy and had a great texture.
We washed all down with a cold bevida fresca Italiana LemonCoco. Which I have ro admit didn't sound as good as it tasted. It was refreshing and was similar to lemonade with an after taste of sweet coconut water. Surprisingly, it was delicious as well.
This was a nice place to get great tasting Roman style thin crust pizza by the slice. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal.
My wife and I are pretty adventurous when it comes to trying out new places that we had never been to before. If we have a choice between a national or regional chain restaurant and the unique mom and pop local business, we always ❤️ love to support the mom and pop small businesses.

Read moreWe wandered in from the beach at about 10 pm on a Friday night. We were there from Texas traveling, and my wife suggested pizza to accommodate our children. I was attracted by the high rating and that it was counter service. I honestly walked in with low expectations... pizza, sold by the slice, in-and-out quick... you can't mess that up.
Folks. OMG. Honestly. We are still talking about our experience! The presentation of each kind of pizza and the cutting each slice with a pair of scissors, then serving on cutting boards, piqued my interest and drew me in. It felt so down to earth, yet just the right amount of theater and fun.
The service was phenomenal. The gal serving that evening was manic in her multitasking, but was attentive and listening and watching to make sure you got what you wanted. We watched the last plain cheese given to customers ahead of us and she overheard us quietly discussing that fact and immediately assured us more was coming. And that was another thing... they were still making a lot of fresh pizza an hourly before closing. It signaled to us it must be good. We interacted quite a bit with the server and the owner... fawning over the pizza. It truly felt like we were home.
The pizza is authentic Italian pizza, the creation of which is led by the authentic Italian owner. It is Italy. It is PERFECTION. I've never had better pizza. Phenomenal ingredients. Amazing crust. This sounds like hyperbole. It is NOT. This is pizza at its finest.
And its inexpensive!!! Cheapest meal we had traveling. Yet, it was the best meal we had. The whole experience left me beside myself. It was one of those rare experiences where the people, food, and atmosphere left me with my jaw on the floor. Make sure you fill the tip jar. They deserve it.
Did we just have the best food served by folks who genuinely love what they are doing and care about people through the food they serve? Yes we did!
If you live in Huntington Beach, or if you visit, you MUST visit. This is a business worth supporting....
