Avoid. Bad. Hateful place. Poor quality. Over priced. Do not eat here. Bad attitude. Negative vibes. The new head manager is a very angry, mean, vindictive person. He was very rude and unkind to me. I am a well known international social media person. I was waiting for the restaurant to open, so I could look at the menu and check it out for a group dinner party. The manager confronted me, insulted me, accused me of stealing the WiFi, called the police and threatened to tow my car away. I was using the Internet to check their website. The WiFi is wide open, accessible to anyone walking down the street, instant log on, no password, but he said it's only for customers. I was a customer. I had been there before. Most places don't hassle you for using their WiFi. Use a passcode if you're so stingy, otherwise most people assume anyone can use it. The manager took pictures and video of me and said he was going to put it online and get everyone against me to chase me out of town. He said I was a free-loader, stealing WiFi, to go get a f-ing job, said I was scaring his customers. I have a job. I travel and work online. I am a Christian and the manager disrespected me and my belief. I tried to reason with the manager, but he would not calm down. The manager thinks he controls the nearby Target parking lot, too. He calls the police and tries to get Target customers towed away. Just because I travel in an RV, the manager thought I was homeless. He totally despises the poor, needy and less fortunate. Very hateful. For food to be good and healthy, food must be prepared with love. Food prepared with hate will make you sick. I cannot recommend this restaurant. The manager is full of hate and that will trickle down from top management to the lowest employee, to the waiter, server and to the food on your plate. Imagine the employees having to work under this mean man and in this oppressive environment. It will negatively impact and affect the food and the customer's experience. Very unkind to treat anyone this way, especially during the holiday season when most try to show love, kindness, giving, sharing, caring, charity. We were considering to gather here for a holiday party, but not after this wreckless act of profiling, bullying, discrimination, harassment and hate crime. He has been reported to the police for making frivolous complaints against travelers with RVs who are a customer of Target and asking to tow their vehicles away while they are doing business at the store and parked in the Target parking lot. Police are busy with serious crimes and important matters and don't like being bothered with ridiculous miniscule matters such as this manager calls about. The manager is instigating a hate crime. Crimes against humanity. He will be sued for posting pictures of me and my vehicle online trying to get people to bully and harass me. That is profiling, invasion of privacy, discrimination, bullying, harassment, a hate crime, illegal. This could endanger my safety and life. A hate crime. A lawyer is reviewing the case. We will do everything within the law to put a stop to this hate crime. Watch out. He might tow your car away too while you're eating in his restaurant or shopping at Target. Avoid this miserable place. Full of hate. Be motivated by and consumed by love, not hate. Be nice, gentle and kind. Don't be mean to people. Don't support this bad person and business. What goes around, comes around. Remember, food made with hate will make you sick. Avoid. Stay away. Keep healthy naturally and spiritually. There are many better choices around with positive vibes and better prices. We could have posted a good review, but the manager chose to go to war with us. We have an international network of social media influencers with millions of fans and followers local, national and international. We can either say good or bad. We tell it like it is. Treat us good & you'll get a good review. Treat us bad & the world will hear about it. Help put an end to hate crimes. Thank you everyone. Happy holidays. Have a...
Read moreMy experience at Market Broiler Huntington was, a mixed bag. Arriving for dinner around 8pm with a party of two, the parking was empty. The interior reflected the parking lot and had many vacant tables. I thought it to be unusual for a Saturday night around dinnertime. We were greeted and given a table immediately. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. We ordered a Barrel Manhatten and the 5 O'clock Somewhere. The Barrel Manhatten was nothing to write home about, however the 5 O'clock Somewhere was awful. The taste of cheap liquor raided my mouth and left a wanting for sweetness. We had it sent away and stuck with water.
Our appetizer were the Poke Nachos, which were delicious. The chips were firm but flaky, and had a nice saltiness to them that enhanced the flavor of the tuna and avocado that rested on top with a sweet drizzle sauce.
For the entrées we ordered the Alaskan King Crab 1lb ($65), Filet Mignon ($38) more on the rare side is my preference, and the Lemon Caper Giant Prawn Skewers ($28).
The Alaskan King Crab came with potatoes and broccolini. The Filet Mignon came with potatoes and asparagus. The Lemon Giant Prawns came with zucchini, squash, and carrots. It also had a rice pilaf on the side. The broccolini on all the dishes were acceptable but a little too firm, and were not seasoned the best. The zucchini, squash, and carrots were yummy and tender. They had an enriched lemon flavor that burst with juices that made you want more. The rice pilaf was a little bland in comparison to the veggies, as well as dry. The potatoes were just awful. They were dry with crusted bits on the top that I think was an attempt at cheese crust? Lumpy is another word that came to mind when I ate them. I believe boxed mashed potatoes may have been more appetizing than these. The entrées were excellent. All of them. The Filet Mignon was asked to be medium rare, more on the rare side, and was delivered with finesse. Excellent crust and flavor from the steak. The tenderness was visible from just touching it. The prawns were good, not excellent but good. I believe they needed a bit more flavoring but had a solid flavor in the end product. The dipping sauce for the prawns was a saving grace for the dish. A nice and creamy dip made the prawns burst with flavor. I do think a sauce that was a bit more zesty or zingy may have been more desirable. The King Crab was also excellent. Well cooked and great flavor. Using the crab cracker is always fun, but this time using it knowing how good the crab was after eating one bite had my date and I fighting over the cracker (hindsight we could have asked for another, but where's the fun in that?) The fun ended when we got to the garlic butter sauce with the crab dish. It felt like it was an imitation of garlic butter. I would compare it to a fancier version of Papa John's butter sauce dip for their pizzas. This sauce was thick and viscous, and lacked a garlic flavoring that was sorely missed. It was so missed that we ended up leaving the restaurant to go home and make ours that we love to eat with seafood. Overall I give the whole dining experience a 3 / 5. The entrées were a great tasting dinner, but the drinks were not something I would want to drink again, and the sides need a serious upgrade in their...
Read moreUpdate: Still 5 stars (more if possible), and another fun and delicious dining experience. This time, we had Aaron as a server... he was amazing while he managed a full floor of patrons who love the happy hour -- best in town! With choices on the menu that are delicious and some are not fried after all. I still kept with their seafood salad off the main menu. Perfect again. My son ordered happy hour menu selections; mussels and frtes, crab and shrimp delights (chimichangas?), and our awesome server, Aaron, brought Alex a butter cream, ice cream, strawberry tower of goodness, along with that hot sourdough bread and butter. I posted more pictures... honestly, I think this is the BEST Happy Hour and casual seafood restaurant with amazing service... in the land! Over there on Brookhurst and Adam's. Still recommend!
Original review:
Stopped in for an early dinner and discovered their Happy Hour, which my son enjoyed... coconut shrimp, scallop sashimi, and a massive birthday dessert. The Happy Hour menu had some nice variety, but unfortunately, mostly fried goodies. I stayed with the main menu and loved my seafood salad along with a nice Rose. The sourdough was piping hot and the best I've had in some time. I try not to eat carbs, but this was irresistible. Everything was fresh and delicious. We had fun there; casual atmosphere, excellent service (shout out to Mason!), and the crowd seemed to enjoy as well. Highly recommend for a casual outting for fresh seafood-- and for me, an alternative to raw fish with my sushi appetite to...
