We saw the bad reviews and made the bad decision to try it out ourselves anyways. We should have taken everyone else's word for it. It would have saved us $50.
The burgers are small. My Chicken Shack was undercooked and pink in the middle--I couldn't finish it. We ordered two fries and they only gave us one. The cheese on the cheese fries tastes like the plastic kind you get at your kid's T-ball game. Maybe worse.
Another weird tidbit, when we were ordering the employee asked us to verify our order on the screen. Our order was not displayed on the screen, it was just the menu. We explained this. They sighed and got rude in tone saying, "LOOK ON THE SCREEN IN FRONT OF YOU. IS YOUR ORDER RIGHT?" We were looking at the screens, our order was not displayed... It was just the menus. We repeated this. She asked us again louder like we were stupid. "THE SCREENS. THE ONLY SCREENS NEAR YOU." Again, we explained that we were seeing the screens, but the order was not displayed like she believed. She sighed finally and read it back with a tone like we were stupid.
We pulled up for food, waited a bit, and then they directed us to pull into another slot to wait. We waited about 10 minutes with 1 car order ahead of us.
I did order the Cherry Pomegranate lemonade and it was good.
My final thought: Don't waste your time or your money. Go to In-N-Out instead, who can do it for half the cost, the order is correct, and it tastes 100 times better.
We won't be back.
The pic: Pardon the dirty windows. The picture is of the order board when the employee was yelling at us to be less stupid and confirm our order on the screen. As you can see, our order was not displayed. It was...
Read moreI'd never had Shake Shack, nor heard of it before today. It was brought home via their drive-thru. When I took the food out of the bag, I noticed how sloppily the burgers were put together and packaged. We both had the single burgers with no cheese (I'm guessing their baseline burger) which had a small slice of tomato and a small leaf of wilted lettuce that was much smaller than the burger and a quarter sized spot of what I'm guessing is their sauce. The bun was pretty squished and soggy, probably from steam and grease - all in all, not a very appetizing presentation.
We ended up having to season our burgers and add a little bit of ketchup and mustard just to give it some more flavor. The fries were fine. The cheese sauce, in my opinion was lacking. Not worth it.
As we ate, I was given more background on this chain, finding out that it's supposed to be somewhat high-end for burgers. I was shocked to find out the price tag for this mediocre bag of food. I figured that it was probably a bargain burger place, given the quality of the product that I saw and tasted. I would much rather have In-N-Out or The Habit. Better quality and lower...
Read moreSo excited this new location finally opened! They have EV parking nearby, 2 drive thru lanes, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff, very quick service, and quality food. They also have catering options with boxes of a dozen servings of burgers and fries.
I usually get the regular Shack Burger, just a single and that's enough. Then bacon cheese fries and an Oreo milkshake. They always have limited time special burgers and shakes flavors so keep your eyes out on their website for the latest. Like right now they have black truffle burgers and fries.
Great ambiance and friendly staff!
UPDATE 10/27/24
This time I tried the Avocado Bacon Chicken sandwich and it was great. I added tomato. I thought it might need extra sauce but it didn't. My wife joined me and in hindsight we could have shared a single fries with some cheese sauce on the side. She got her favorite bacon double cheese burger with no sauce, no...
