I recently had the pleasure of dining at 9th Street Diner in Huntington, WV, and I can confidently say it was a delightful experience that left me eager to return. From the moment I walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic meal. The diner has a cozy, classic vibe that makes you feel right at home, with friendly staff who genuinely care about your dining experience. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the food. I ordered a perfectly cooked steak, served alongside roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus, with a side of rich, savory au jus for dipping. The steak was tender, juicy, and grilled to a beautiful medium-rare, with a flavorful sear that locked in all the natural juices. The potatoes were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right, while the asparagus added a fresh, vibrant crunch to the plate. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen’s dedication to quality and flavor. What I appreciated most about 9th Street Diner was the attention to detail. The portions were generous, the presentation was simple yet appetizing, and the ingredients tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The service was prompt and attentive without being overbearing, allowing me to enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace. The diner also had a clean, well-maintained setup, with little touches like neatly rolled napkins and condiments on the table that added to the overall experience. If you’re in Huntington and looking for a spot that serves hearty, delicious comfort food with a side of genuine hospitality, 9th Street Diner is the place to go. Whether you’re craving a classic diner meal or just want to enjoy a satisfying plate of steak and veggies, this gem on 9th Street will not disappoint. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreMy husband Joe, our close friend Kristal, and I all ordered the Prime Rib special—rare for each of us—served with smashed red potatoes and tender asparagus. Kristal and I added fresh horseradish, which gave the dish a bold, zesty kick that paired perfectly with the rich, buttery meat. The Prime Rib was a melt-in-your-mouth explosion of flavor, and the au jus? Absolutely divine—savory, silky, and the perfect finishing touch. Before heading out, we grabbed three of the freshly baked cinnamon rolls for a sweet treat later—and wow, they did not disappoint. Did I mention they were the size of a dinner plate? Soft, gooey, and packed with cinnamon goodness. Pure indulgence. Ruth’s Chris doesn’t even come close. 9th Street Diner delivered the best meal I’ve ever had. No contest. We will...
Read moreThis diner is unique in that it is the only one in that part of town, so cudos for that. The snow and ice covered ground out the front of the restaurant make it a challenge to get into at the moment whereas other businesses have salted their entries. The food and drinks are served with disposable plates, cups and cutlery which while may save clean up, does not present a good look for the prices they charge. It is only when it comes time to pay the bill that you know how much the specials are that you ordered. The benches do not appear to be wiped down or cleaned - even the prep benches where food is served off the grill - heaven help anyone who has any food allergies. The hygiene factor ultimately makes me not want to go back. Save time and find...
