Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers — Restaurant in Huntsville

I’ve been twice with my family and won’t be back. First time I went it was extremely busy and line wrapped around the building, out parking lot, and into the street. Waited over an hour in the drive through. We signed up for that as we knew it was busy. Finally got our food, made it home, and realized my onion rings were missing from my combo. Dismissed it and chalked it up to being busy, however, when you’re that busy you should be taking care to ensure orders are complete before handing them out to customer. Having years of experience in food service, rework on orders is costly both in time and money especially when perks are given to make up for mistakes.

2nd time it was not busy, pulled right up to order without any wait. Ordered for 2 adults and 3 children. The 2 adult combos were both supposed to be large both on the fries and drink. One of the combos was the patty melt and we added Freddy sauce. Got home, only one of the 2 fries was large even after asking at the window to make sure they got it right and the girl at window looked and verified they were both large. Also, the patty melt did not have the Freddy sauce.

2 visits and 3 mistakes later and our initial impressions have been made. No intention of returning. Next time we get a craving for a burger, we’ll go to Chik Fil A (that’s sarcasm). Somehow, in the world of fast food, Chik Fil A can get it right at every location with very rare mistakes even with nearly daily lines around the building, not just because they’re new.. Somehow they take the extra steps to get hot food right the first time. In any business you see what the leaders of the pack are doing, copy their models, and maybe even improve on them to take the lead. However, the fast food world isn’t even keeping up and falling further behind, apparently including Freddy’s.

Hey @freddysusa! How is it that I ordered a Double California Burger combo, and the sandwich is missing 3 of the main ingredients? There was no 1000 island dressing, no tomato, and no lettuce! Seriously, very disappointed in this establishment for my first ever visit! That’s the problem with going through the drive thru nowadays! From what I can see through the window, the place was not short staffed! I counted roughly ten employees, and I saw about 5 employees just standing in a huddle laughing while the others were working! Simple mistakes that led to a very bad first impression! I will not recommend this place to anyone at this time! Please focus on the details and do better!

I was contacted by Heather following the last review, and she sincerely apologized for the fiasco and she promptly sent out 2 comp cards to make up For the mistake. I received the cards in a timely manner and I went back on the date of 12/23/2021 to indulge in the free combo. I had the California style combo and I must say it was great! Upon entering the restaurant it looked like a well oiled machine and the place was humming along with activity. I also had a Hawaiian custard that was free and delicious. Thank you Heather for redeeming the Freddy’s name and I definitely recommend this burger spot to all future patrons coming through...

My wife and I tried Freddy's for the first time. I ordered the California style cheeseburger with bacon and she had their crispy chicken sandwich. We also tried their Freddy's french fry sauce, which also comes and I spicy version if you want it, along with our order. Their burgers are two pressed steak burger patties that are juicy and very tasty. The bacon was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crispiness without being dry or overcooked. The chicken sandwich was also cooked to perfection with just the right blend of spices. The fries are the thin shoestring style but they were not overdone and were cooked perfectly. The Freddy's fry sauce adds a nice flavor and tang to the eating experience without overpowering the flavor of the potatoes. They also have their own soda jerk providing you with your beverage, sauces, and refills. It is a very nice touch and a throwback to the old school way of diners. As I was waiting for my drink I saw them making their chili cheese fries which look absolutely delicious and we'll be something we try on the next visit.
