Voodoo Lounge, nestled in a Huntsville basement, is the city’s finest hidden gem, offering an intoxicating blend of dive bar ambiance and energetic live music. From the moment one descends into its invitingly dim recesses, Voodoo Lounge casts a spell, harking back to a time when bars prioritized atmosphere, speed, and the simple pleasure of a well-mixed drink.

Whether you’re a night owl craving local tunes or a thirsty traveler seeking respite, the Lounge’s swift and skilled bartenders won’t leave you parched. The live music is second to none, encapsulating the vibrant spirit of Huntsville with performances that span across a wide range of genres.

In an era where authenticity can be hard to find, Voodoo Lounge stands out, a testament to the city’s vibrant nightlife. It’s an unpretentious spot where good music, fast drinks, and welcoming locals reign. Prepare to...

Went with the wife on a Friday night. Cool location being that it's underground. Had live music. That's where the good ends. It was mostly dead when we got there. Bartender was inattentive and would disappear from time to time. Had two martinis extra dirty. Took about 15 minutes to get them. Look, I've had extra dirty martinis all over the place. This was straight-up pure brine juice with a little hint of vodka. Couldn't finish it. Ordered a coke and fried pickles. Coke was watery, and the pickles were a glob of grease with mini dried up pickles mixed in. I am not exaggerating when i say everything we experienced that night was bad. It could be because we are not regulars, but that's how you get return customers, by giving service that encourages them to come back. I'm not looking for 5-star service...

Rudest bartender I have ever encountered! Intending to celebrate my daughter's recent graduation from UA, my wife and I ordered two beers while my daughter was deciding. The bartender proceeded to bring us 3 beers. After informing her that we only ordered two, she called my wife a liar and became immediately aggressive! After my wife said we would pay for it anyway, she slammed the full glass of beer either in the garbage or sink. Soon thereafter, she got into it with another paying customer while her "regulars" egged her on. Maybe if she wasn't slamming shots with customers (I witnessed her 3 times), she could do her job. Why would the owner allow this?! Maybe related? Have been looking forward to finally seeing what Voodoo lounge is all about. Now I know. Won't...

Great place to go for locals and out-of-towners alike. Can get very noisy and packed quite easily. This can be hard on the bartenders so always remember to give them grace and be understanding. Yes, the place is dark, dirty, and has a certain unpleasant smell. But it’s a dive- it is what it is. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but a lot of folks really love and find enjoyment here. They do serve some pretty yummy bar food which was a nice surprise. Love their phiddle fries and they have really good wings as well. For anyone who wants to know more about the wing flavors- Jacob told me that the Voodoo flavor is very hot and the Zombie flavor is sweet with a little spiciness.

A friend and I were visiting Huntsville for the weekend. After stopping at a few stores, we saw a sign for happy hour. We were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door and found that this place is in a basement. We spent many "happy hours" here that evening. The drinks were great and the company even better. We will not come back to Huntsville without making a stop here. Perfect dive bar vibes!

A hidden dive bar right on the courthouse square. Definitely one of my favorite places to go downtown. They always have great live music and open mic night on Thursdays is a blast. The bartenders are always friendly and make great drinks. The seating is limited due to the shotgun style but I have never minded standing and listening to the bands.
