Same issues remain the last time I was here. Long waits for food, understaffed, restaurant is also still too small to service the busy location it sits at. I'm sure The frustrations u see via the workers are partly because the multi million dollar company Popeyes obviously isn't reading reviews nor making adjustments to fix the issues. When customers come in and add their frustrations, it just makes the entire experience a mess. Because u essentially have a ball of stress and frustration, via everyone bouncing personal issues off one another. At the end, the workers and customers are stressed, while Popeyes just added to their million dollar pot, via the bad experience.
Last time I went to this location, I assume around 3pm, the doors were locked and workers were only taking drive through orders. I assume this is because they didn't have workers to handle the crowd? or because they didn't want to be bother with the crowd? No note WaS on the door, so I'm left to assume.
My visit that I'm referring to in my opening happened yesterday. The doors were now unlocked, but it was a 67 degrees day, yet the store employees turned the heat up in the lobby to well over 95+ degrees. Every customer that wanted to order inside talked about how hot it was inside the lobby.
The reason the heat was turned up, from my pov, is because the workers wanted it to be so hot that people wouldn't want to come inside to order or wait for their order (around their busy afternoon hours). This is a way they could probably cut down their traffic so they won't have to be bothered with the issues I made above. The regional manager for Chicago has a picture of herself taped on the glass, along with her number. But the issues at this location is beyond regional management, from my pov. So what's the point?
It's too many near by chicken restaurants in this area, in Hyde park and around, to be bothered with the issues at this location. Gave them another shot, but I think I'm completely done from this...
Read moreThis specific location has been added to my list of restaurants I'll NEVER visit again!!! Their service is usually bad, and they run out of items often.
On this LAST visit, I get into the drive through line. There are approximately 6 cars ahead of me. I notice that several cars get to the speaker, and then just drive off. About 15 minutes later, I get to the speaker, and the young lady starts with "WHAT WE DON'T HAVE"!!! I went for chicken sandwiches, but didn't expect them have them so I had another option. I order a 3 piece combo, and she tells me "we out of 2 side options". I settle on a side, and request my drink choice they don't have that. Next, she says, "also, we're out of biscuits". I ask, "are you substituting something for not having biscuits?". I thought that was fair, but she tells me no. Then, I ask, "you want me to pay full price, but you don't have everything that comes in a combo?". She says, just a minute....I think she asked the manager.....then comes back with "Yes, that's the price of the combo, and there are no substitutions". My son really wanted the Popeyes, and at that point I decided, this will be THE LAST time I EVER come here! I get to the window and pay, the girl gives me the food, says thank you and closes the window........BUT hasn't given me my credit card back yet! When she opens the window, she ask, "did I need something else?". Again, NEVER GOING BACK!!! They won't go out of business without me, but they're definitely NEVER getting my...
Read moreLiterally waited 45 minutes in the drive through line yesterday because their drive through ordering speaker was broken and each car had to order individually at the window. No apology, no acknowledgement of our inconvenience, just the same classic bad attitude employees.
Food was mediocre, so about what I expect from this location. At least they got my order right, which is rare. Other Popeyes locations do such a better job with their food!
They had no soda available, just bottled water and sweet tea. Again, no apology for this. But at least they had chicken—I kid you not, I visited this location earlier in spring and was told “we don’t have no chicken.” How does a CHICKEN restaurant run out of chicken?
Last but not least, I was given a receipt with the restaurant number purposely cut off, so I can’t even fill out the survey to express my displeasure directly to the company. This is dishonesty and apparently it’s tolerated if not encouraged by management.
Popeyes, PLEASE fire the management of this restaurant as quickly as you can. We like your food but I will NEVER again subject myself to the displeasure of visiting your E 47th Street...
