Found this place by accident just browsing Google maps...read the reviews and gave it a try ... sooo happy we did! The food was excellent and the service even better! Our waiter was friendly, offered suggestions since our first time, and was very attentive. Definitely coming back here again when in Chicago! Now...on to the food. Ordered the tonkatsu premium pork ramen, because it looked like it had a variety in it. First, the pork bone broth was delicious, rich in flavor. Pork belly, pork loin, chashu, ground pork chunks, half a soft boiled egg, bean sprouts, scallions all mixed in with al dente ramen noodles. This bowl was a large portion. Also ordered a side of fried pork skins to go with it. Delicious. Delicious. Delicious. Pork Belly Tsukenen (warm) this dish was something we'd not heard of nor had before, so we had to order this to check it out. A beautiful presentation was served. Bowl filled with ramen noodles as the base, which seemed to have been lightly tossed in some kind of oil(sesame?). It was then topped with wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, scallions, and two large pieces of perfectly cooked pork belly that was flavorful, tender, and juicy. There's a small bowl of creamy broth, with bits of fried onions in it, that comes on the side for you to dip the noodles. All in all a very tasty dish. Definitely highly recommend both dishes plus we added an appetizer of edamame. Great experience that's worth a trip into Hyde Park.

Food: 5/5 (foodies will rejoice!) Service: 5/5 (great staff!) Atmosphere: (lovely environment!) I'm completely blown away by the level of ramen that comes out of this restaurant. Strings Ramen Shop - Hyde Park (just like my experiences at Strings on the Northside of Chicago and Chinatown, Chicago) has been breathtaking. The level of taste, visual, and skill that Strings had with making this ramen is amazing. Located in the Chicago Hyde Park area, Strings Ramen Shop is a restaurant everyone needs to experience. From the food, service, and atmosphere, everything is wonderful. As I mentioned above, the ramen is breathtaking. The textures and taste of the Tonkotsu Ramen are very nice. A big bowl of this any season is ideal, and the other menu items are just as good. The service is great! The staff is nice and knowledgeable of the menu. The water cups stay full, and the staff attend to every need. The atmosphere was clean and full of culture. Watching documentaries of where ramen shops originated, you can see some similarities. I appreciated the atmosphere. Great restaurant from Hyde Park and the other two shops. This ramen needs to be on everyone's bucket list when visiting Chicago.

My first time eating in a restaurant since covid started. The restaurant Stringz was empty, clean, and staffed with 3 people by the time I left. I was coming from the gym and quite hungry, after fasting for over 18 hours. I ordered the level 3 (of 4) hell noodles, and shrimp dumplings. The shrimp dumplings were so good, but those noodles, FIRE!!! Oww wee!!! I challenged myself to eat the whole bowl without a drop of water, and succeeded. I only needed 3 sips of water afterwards. I'm bad@$$. Sidenote, I had to eat the noodles without my glasses on because I was in constant tears. Also, I blew my nose no less than 20 times, and I had Noooooooo sinus issues before eating. Will be back again for the hell 4 noodles soon. May even video it. Yes, i got takeout too. The average meal will cost you $10 to $20 dollars. Service at this location (Hyde Park) was very good, and people were...
