In solidarity with a black business 3/1/2025 I ordered food online for my construction crew from That’s A Burger. This was my first time ever ordering with this place. No where online does it specify burgers come with fries. So I ordered them with my meal and I tipped expecting great service. When I called in to check on my order the attendant notified me I over paid for additional fries as they do come with the meal. I was told I would be fully refunded for the fries upon arrival to pickup my order. When I arrived the attendant told the manager Paige. She immediately got an attitude saying loud enough for me to hear, a first time customer, “I’m gonna need folks to read because I don’t have time to stop cuz you don’t read. She’s gonna have to wait till I finish all these rush orders.” There were 10 orders being prepared and 5 more people in line behind me waiting to order. I agreed to wait thinking it would not be all the orders, but majority. My crews food beginning to get cold, that I again already paid for, I asked after 15min how long more would i have to wait. Paige repeated “When I’m done!” The attendant looked apologetic but unable to assist repeated what the manager said. My mother then came in inquiring what was taking so long to receive the refund promised over the phone. The refund should have been $12 from a $100 order with a tip. I just received a notification from my bank she approved a $1 refund. THEY WILL NEVER GET MY MONEY AGAIN. The absolute disrespect repeatedly displayed here is crazy especially right at the close of BHM. It be your own people. Paige was rude and repeatedly disrespectful. Be careful when ordering here. I was recommended to come here because service received by crew in the past was cool. But as a first impression definitely won’t...

This place has been in business for a while, but I don't know how. First lete start by saying that their burgers are tasty. Not the most nutritious, but tasty. With that being said, this place has very unprofessional business practices. Quite often they are closed during times that they advertise that they are open. They rarely, if ever, answer the phone, so if you want to call in an order so you can grab and go, forget about it. I still was a patron, even dealing with all this, spending $40-$50 each trip for my kids. But the last straw came when I busted my butt to get to their business before 8pm, getting there at 7:35pm. I get to the counter and was told by the elderly cashier that she does not take orders after 7:30pm. Where do they do that?! I never saw that posted anywhere nor advertised anywhere. My father always taught me to support African American businesses, bit I just can't do it anymore. It saddened me when I realized my 19 year old son was correct when he said African American businesses are unprofessional and unprepared to meet the demands of thriving markets in part because they have poor customer service. I will not support this business again. Never been to a restaurant that stopped taking orders, not phone orders, one half hour before closing. I wasted my time and petroleum trying to support Black business. I won't let that happen again because they don't respect my time, effort, and gas money. I miss the days when you can get good business at a Black Owned Establishment, but my son is correct-- that is a thing...

The burgers are Delicious. I would give a 5 for the taste and quality of the food, always fresh. But the wait is extremely too long. It doesn't take 30 mins to cook a fresh burger with fries at home so I can't grasp why this restaurant hasn't mastered the wait time yet. They've gotten wayyyy better because I remember when they first moved to this location it could take 90 minutes for food, which is outrageous considering they were only serving burgers. They could do better but I do recommend this place especially for a good turkey burger which is hard to find.

Edit: I lowered the rating because the customer service is horrible. They consistently close early and most times are not even open. I really question how they are able to sustain the business. The wait is still long and whatever wait you're told be sure to add 10-15+ minutes on top of that. Don't even try to call because they take the phone off the hook and have no problem with telling you that that's their practice when you're in the store. Why take the phone off the hook? That's money that they could be losing but they don't care. Customer service is their last concern. They spend a lot of time on making sure your burger tastes well but there needs to be more of a balance. The burgers sell so why not add additional patties on the grill to lessen the wait? It's mind blowing that it takes an average of 30-45 mins for a burger. Also the prices went up, I guess to accommodate all the time...

My Visit to That’s A Burger I’m no stranger to this spot I remember when they first opened up in South Shore, and now they’re holding it down on 83rd & Stoney Island. This Black owned gem sets the bar for professionalism. The staff is always friendly, personable, and welcoming. Yes, there may be a short wait at times, but that’s only because everything is cooked fresh on the spot and it’s worth it every single time. Today I ordered my go to the salmon burger (no onions, no cheese) and grabbed two turkey hot dogs for one of my leasing agents. Their menu is stacked with great options, plus they’ve got Italian ice for dessert. And the best part you can fully customize your order to your liking. Back in the day, I lived off their famous turkey burger (no fries, no cheese, no onions). And trust me, I’ll be back soon for another turkey burger and some Italian ice. Don’t meet me there beat me there! I wish the every entire staff member that works at that's a burger much success and for the business to strive and flourish and I pray many more locations open up and may the gates of financial freedom open up for everyone in abundance

I recently visited That's a Burger on the Southside and was thoroughly impressed with their offerings. The cheesy smash burger was exceptional, boasting a perfect blend of flavors and a juicy, satisfying bite. One thing to note is that you only need a single burger to feel fully satisfied—it’s that hearty and delicious. The vibrant graffiti on the wall added a unique and artistic touch to the overall atmosphere, enhancing the dining experience. One intriguing aspect was the mention of their secret BBQ sauces—I’m really curious to know more about them and hope to try them on my next visit. The only downside is their limited hours; it seems like they’re never open when I want to go back. Despite this, if you manage to catch them open, it’s definitely worth a visit for a fantastic burger experience.
