Visited this place to grab some dinner because I'm a fan of Caribbean and jerked food and they were relatively close. The fact of the matter is that top to bottom, this may have been the worst customer service experience I've ever had at a restaurant in my life. And that is truly a shame because the food is delicious. I placed an order via phone that they said would be 20 minutes to wait for. Arrived at the restaurant 30 mins after placing my order without my food being ready. No apology, no regards. Was told my food would be up shortly by the server who obviously didn't care that I was visibly displeased. So I take a seat. I wasn't the only one in the restaurant who had this experience. There were at least 2 other people who had been waiting a hour for their food with no regard. I watched the server take calls from others placing their orders as she told them "15 minutes" as a wait time consistently, mechanically and robotically and those times were consistently false.
The physical establishment looked shabby and unkempt. The staff was doing minor cleaning while people were waiting for their food with very little regard of courtesy for their patrons. Generally speaking, I was given the impression that people who purchase their food and services are causing them an inconvenience by doing so. Therefore, I shall never bother them with my business again for as long as I shall live and I strongly encourage that this particular experience be avoided...

The young lady took my order, said it would be ready in about 15 minutes, and I'm waiting more than 20 minutes with no customers ordering the only people in there was myself and 2 others and they were either eating or finished. One of the workers from the back went out to smoke a cigarette, while the other was eating behind the counter. The person taking orders disappeared. The one that went out to smoke came back in and I hope she washed her hands. And I got up to see what the hold up was and all she had to do was dip my food up and bag it up and give it to me. So I sat there additional minutes for nothing. My food was not hot when I got home and I only live down the street from the restaurant. And the young lady that was fixing my food, that went out to smoke had an attitude. $28 and change for Luke warm food, bad attitude from the server and waiting an extra unnecessary amount of time. Even over the phone it just seems like Iām calling a random person to place an order and not a business. Have some energy and excitement that someone is patronizing your business. Iāve been here on a several occasions because the food is bomb and Iām always polite and respectful because thatās how I treat people who handle my food; but I donāt get that same energy in return. It seems like at least one or two people have an attitude every time we come, it never fails.
Be more professional and friendly with customers, that really makes the difference between a one time experience and a returning customer. Try saying āthank you, come again.ā Itās really disappointing because my husband and I love the fact that we supported a Black owned business but that doesnāt exempt you from being professional and having customer service skills.
