Hi, I hate to leave a bad review on literally my favorite coffee shop but if this is taken care of I’d love to edit to 5 stars! Just want to make sure this employee is held accountable. I came in solo to grab a drink for me and my friend and there was one girl working. 4/07 at 4pm, dark hair and tattoos. I get it, we all have our days and a few people trickled in, but I have a timestamped text so I know that the time from when I ordered to when I received my drinks was exactly 20 minutes, not including the time I stood in line. Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s a lot. I mean I have about 4 years coffee experience and this is just not how you do it. No urgency at all, no friendliness, guy behind me got his drips and muffins right away which makes some sense cause they’re drips, but after about 17 min, I asked if she was working on them as nice as I could and mentioned I was in a hurry, then mentioned it had been almost 20 minutes which I regret because she rolled her eyes... just not cool ya know? I would’ve left happy with a simple apology for the wait but instead I just felt like the people running the show needed to know. Makes me wish tips were asked for after...

There are a few issues that I have with the Alchemist:

First with the good, the service and drinks are excellent. The staff have always been friendly and willing to help me when I’m indecisive about my order. I’ve had the chance to try some cool stuff.

Onto the bad. Let’s start with the bathroom, which has to have the worst sink I have ever seen in my entire life. It makes a terrible mess because it splashes everywhere. While washing my hands it kept splashing on the floor, my shoes, and pants. It’s ridiculously tiny, and it drains so slowly.

And then there’s the bar. The chairs along the bar, have recently changed and are worse than the ones before and those were not very comfortable. And somehow they have a bar but no foot-bar for people’s comfort and stability.

Their hours keep changing without any rhyme or reason. I was at the location this evening, where they close at five, but still had people coming in. The barista was accommodating, but was also struggling to close on time. As I was headed to my car, more people were walking up to try and...

Wonderful atmosphere, ethical owners and local feeling employees. Come here mid day and it’s nice and peaceful with other remote workers. Funny experience: I once had a banana bread here and tbh it was the worst pastry I’ve ever honestly had (couldn’t eat it, I think it was just an accidental off batch one day) but the barista was so incredibly kind and let me exchange it out no problem without hesitation. 10/10 customer service experience. Coming here, you might get something like that once in a wild blue moon, but that’s because you’re supporting local, real people, and the food isn’t made in cookie cutter large factories.

Overall, I love this place. I think if they keep supporting their remote worker regulars and frame themselves as the place to go if you’re an entrepreneur/work from home/business meetup, they’ll really continue to thrive in Boise. For example, I once forgot my printed receipt (I need to track them) and a barista came and brought it to my table while my computer was up, and it made me feel especially...

Nestled in the developing community in west Boise, the Alchemist Coffee shop effortlessly combines great-tasting coffee with a cool Steampunk vibe. Each cup is brewed to perfection, delivering a perfect flavor profile without a hint of bitterness. The inside seating area provides a cozy environment or site outside if you'd rather enjoy the morning. The parking may be tricky depending the time you're there, but you should be able to find something within a short walk. Overall, Alchemist Coffee shop is a must-visit destination for coffee lovers seeking a unique experience that blends exceptional coffee craftsmanship with a Steampunk ambiance. Whether you're a dedicated coffee connoisseur or simply looking for a good cup of Joe, Alchemist Coffee offers just that. Thanks guys... we'll be back!

The modern touch. Alchemist is new, fresh, if not a little sterile, and quite the addition to the West End. Likeable self roasted coffee (I enjoyed the latte, but don't expect a high level review as I don't have a fine coffee palate), paired with a really good (and fresh) blueberry bar, made my afternoon. While the patio is a bit anemic and should see expansion and beautification for next summer, the interior radiates contemporariness, with modern art, grey-wood decor, and some lifestyle adornments that prompt self-assuredness. The selection of eclectic non-coffee drinks, which I didn't try, raises hopes of continuing thoughtfulness in the food/drink offerings. I'll come back.

The coffee and service are good, however I got the banana chocolate muffin and it’s one of the worst I’ve ever had. Extremely dry, it feels like I’m chewing on styrofoam. Maybe they gave me an older muffin, but it was so disappointing. I had a 16oz whole milk latte and it was good, very creamy. My boyfriend had a spicy bacon burrito and a latte and said the burrito was really messy to eat and like eating a cracker Service is good, atmosphere is good too
