Horrible! We used to eat here often. But we ate there today and it was awful. I ordered the same thing I get every time, the cheeseburger with onion rings. Never had a problem with my food until today. It tasted old, it tasted like it was yesterday's meat that had been microwaved. It was bad. So I told the server politely that something tasted off. So she brought me a "new" burger..... same thing....gross. So I told her that it was fine I didn't want another and that I'll just order a cinnamon roll for my family to share. She then goes in to this spill about how there burgers are 100% beef and other places put fillers in the meat so that's why it may taste different. I informed her that I order the same thing every time I come and have never had this issue before. We then go up to the counter because the service was AWFUL AND SLOW to pay for our meal. She tried charging me for the meal I never ate. She told me I still have to charge you for it because we sell many burgers and haven't had any issues. I explained to her that I am not ok with paying for something I didn't eat because it was gross. Your really going to sit here and argue with me about this? Oh I could not believe this. Then she made us wait because she needed to ask the manager who was on the phone. We then sat back down for another 15-20 minutes. She then says ok I won't charge you for the burger but he's says I need to charge for the onion rings.... oh boy you mean the whole 6 of them. Geez I paid it and we left. No tip and never returning. My husband then try's calling the manager to talk to him himself about the whole experience and they told us he wasn't there. We literally called right when we pulled away. And his truck was parked right across the road. They said he would call us back but never did. Pretty sad to loose a whole family of business over a few bucks. The service was terrible. It took forever it seemed for her to take our order, water was empty, coffee just about empty. Had to ask someone else to fill my drinks. Ridiculous! Not to mention it wasn't busy at all! What an awful experience and we will not...

Takeout order fiasco. Ordered a veggie omelette which came w/ hashbrowns and toast. I opted for egg whites/egg beaters, asked to leave out the broccoli and add jalapenos and black olives instead. I also asked to sub a cup of fruit instead of hashbrowns. Chose an English Muffin for the toast option. Boyfriend ordered loaded biscuit and gravy, no additions/changes. We also ordered one side of cowboy potatoes. When we picked up our order they forgot the cowboy potatoes. Ugh. When we called to have the missing item credited to our card since the total was $39.54 and our entrees we're $12.99 & 13.99, we were told that we didn't get charged for the side of cowboy potatoes. I asked him to break down the $39.54 receipt total and it was $13.99 for the Loaded B&G, $12.99 for veggie omelette plus $.95 Each for jalapenos and olives, $2.80 for egg beaters/egg whites, and $4.99 to sub the side of fruit. So we were charged the full price of the side of fruit and additions instead of treating them as substitutions w/ a reasonable upcharge for the difference. Not cool. But for my math wizs out there, that still only adds up to $36.67. 6% tax adds $2.20 for a grand total $38.87 We were charged $39.54. Math still doesn't math. So, if I didn't get charged for cowboy potatoes then I ultimately paid $23.18 (plus tax) for a veggie omelette and a side of fruit? $10.18 in up charges/substitutions. Seriously?!?! Did I get another upcharge for the included toast option? Did I get charged to not have potatoes? I absolutely expect to pay a reasonable upcharge for additions and substitutions, but this crossed over to ripoff territory. This was only our second time coming back after getting a take out order previously on Father's Day with the styrofoam melted into our chicken fried steak breakfast. Everything smelled and tasted like burning plastic. Super gross. Mistakes happen and are forgiveable, but dang, please get it...

Let me start off by saying that hat I had a brunch with a date, and I like the place. Simple food that was cooked quickly and tasted great. My date got a mimosa which she claimed was strong, but she wasn't impaired. I saw that the place was busy, but we didn't have to wait long to get a table. The staff were quick to clean the tables and help folks out. Overall, I enjoyed most aspects of my visit and understand why this has been a staple for as long as it has been.

My problems were perhaps a bit petty, but with COVID still a big deal, perhaps understandable. First off I noticed that a number of the staff would go behind the counter, with no shield between it and the rest of the establishment, and pull down their masks. I noticed two males and three females do this, band often more than once. And our server wore a mask made of mesh material and red rhinestones. Very pretty, but utterly useless to prevent the spread of any disease. The other part was that our server took a while to get to us. The person who brought us utensils and napkins took our drink order, brought them, and three separate times a person came by to refill water or coffee before our server came t9 get our order. This last part wasn't too big a deal, but when we went to pay at the register, we were sent to the other end of the counter to pay.

But as I said, I look forward to returning.

As a side note, my date had biscuits and gravy, and I had the veggie omlette, and they...

A True Boise Gem: The Capri Restaurant Saturday morning with four friends turned into a delightful reunion when we ran into two more friends at The Capri. It’s the kind of place where that just happens, a testament to its status as a true Boise institution. This hidden gem on Fairview is a must-visit, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a classic, delicious breakfast or lunch. Our experience was fantastic from start to finish. Our server was wonderful, attentive, and handled our growing party with grace. The food was absolutely fantastic; a perfect example of home-style cooking done right. Every dish was full of flavor, and the portions were generous, exactly what you want from a classic diner. Beyond the delicious food and excellent service, part of what makes The Capri so special is its welcoming atmosphere and traditional feel. It's a place that feels like it's been a part of the community forever, with a sense of history that's evident the moment you walk in. The restaurant even has a connection to another local icon, with the two businesses often co-branded and even opening a joint location in Meridian. The Capri is also the proud home of Rudy the Rooster, a beloved Boise icon. If you're looking for a taste of old-school Boise with a welcoming atmosphere, fantastic food, and a bit of local charm, The Capri is the place to go. It’s a hidden gem that feels like a warm hug, and it's a place you'll want to return to again and again.

I was in a hurry to get to work and called in a ham and cheese omelet to go. Online the price was $6, decent enough, I opted out of the sides but didn't expect the price to go down, it is what it is. I got there to pick it up, the kid at the counter said the lady down there will help you. Okay, are you going to tell her I'm here? Waited, waited, couldn't get to her as there were people in the seats between she and I. Finally the kid tells here i"m there for the order that's sitting behind her. She rings me up and this little omelet with no sides is nearly $10. I went to ask her if this was correct but she was gone, wouldn't turn back around. Chalk this up to I will never eat here again.
