Cute little place! Reminded us of places we’d regular back in St. Paul/Minneapolis.
We Visited for the first time Sunday, late afternoon. The fresh & sweet (what I assumed to be) kettle corn smell was a bit nauseating at first, but that could just be because it’s winter and the airflow is a bit dormant. It was not too busy, spacious yet cozy. typical prices although I did not readily see a menu for made-to-order items; I wasn’t aware that they served hot beverages until I saw the espresso machine. We discovered later they had pamphlet-style menus which we didn’t see, and one larger outside near the entrance. In my opinion, it would have been better customer service and certainly appreciated to have been offered a menu when I had asked about beverages, rather than a ‘yup’, or at least have one sitting by where you would order.
$6.50 for a 16oz drink is undesirable however given the circumstances and small businesses suffering the most the last few years, I didn’t have a problem with it and will continue to support.
I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t echoey or have music too loud; definitely a good environment for conversation. The table sizes and spacing is ideal for study groups or one-on-one conversation now that after the pandemic the seating has changed. The kids/teens enjoyed browsing the gifts and treats for sale. Parking was very limited- even on a seemingly very quiet Sunday, we still had to park several blocks away. However, None of those things would have discouraged me from coming back.
My only and biggest complaint- I’m aware it’s not necessarily a reflection of the business so much as the individual staff, and that mistakes do happen. however, training is important. Especially being in the service industry and handling food products, understanding that when someone orders something such as a specific kind of milk, a sugar-free syrup or a decaf latte, gluten-free or vegan, for example, it is in fact what they are served. For some, it’s not just a preference, but a necessity.
In my case, and Although I am very aware that I take the risk when I don’t make it myself, I did specify decaf 3x while ordering as I typically do. Ultimately it was without a doubt not what I requested, and (again, partially my fault) hadn’t realize it until it was about half consumed. I would certainly encourage some friendly staff reminders as the outcome could have easily been much more of a dire situation than just having to be monitored and spending the next 12 hours recovering, and disappointing an already very patient kid.
Would probably return,...

I haven't been to too many candy stores, but this one tops all others that I have been to. Located in Boise's Northend near downtown, surrounded by a small row of restaurants, bars, and the like in a residential neighborhood, sits this cute and nostalgic candy store.
Once you walk in you'll be greeted with many yummy smells. To the right of you is the candy corn area and to the left is many plus animals and toys that you can purchase-- there is also one of the penny flattener machines in this area, too.
Once inside you can get your choice of many different pieces of candy from chocolates to gummy bears, or even get yourself a banana split or brownie sundae (see my photos). If you're in the mood for espresso they've got you covered, too!
I can only imagine warm summer evenings at this place. I've been twice and both times were after having dinner with my friends in nearby restaurants. I can't wait to take my kids here!
The staff is friendly and welcoming. The prices are fair, better than the candy shop in the mall. The name says soda fountain and I didn't really pay attention to any sodas or...
Read moreOn Wednesday the 3rd my friends and I just got done hiking table rock. We knew we wanted to get some ice cream, and out all of the ice cream places Goody’s was where we wanted to go. We called ahead of time because the gps said we were going to arrive at 9:58 and we knew closing was at 10. A guy answered and said that was fine, and when we showed up at the door exactly at 10 o’clock the same guy approached us and said how rude of us it was to show up at closing time and that he didn’t have to let us in but out of the “kindness of my heart” he would let us in only if we would “be our team” , and “only order ice cream in a cup, no cones, nothing fancy” and “do not take any time thinking about what flavor you want.” My friends and I were beyond annoyed because we called ahead of time and he knew we were arriving. It was him and 2 other girls working, and the girls greeted us with smiles and were very friendly. The ice cream was great, but we were highly disappointed in the...
