If no stars were an option, that would be my review and only for the good of consumer safety. We’ve been to many Mongolian BBQ restaurants (MBBQs) and after trying this one, we won’t go back.
Misleading Pricing
I am not a big eater and only prepare/eat one dish, never going back for seconds, thirds, etc. They offer pricing based on the bowl size you select (small, medium and large). When you are in line and trying to select which size bowl, it is hard to discern size as they look similar. The large size will run almost $11.00 for lunch. Most MBBQs charge under $9.00 per person plus drinks for lunch. For two people with large and medium bowls (no second trips) and two sodas—over $23.00, not including tip. Not a good value.
Food Selection and Preparation
The offerings are typical to MBBQs, but watch out for freshness and poor food preparation of items. The onions had cores attached, mushrooms had fertilizer/mulch remnants, dirty cilantro, and un-trimmed fat on meats.
Don’t Forget to Add TONS of Sauce or You’ll Get Scolded
If you think you have added just the right amount of sauce per your taste, apparently the cooks do not think so and will tell you. They will tell you “oh no, more sauce,” and then take your bowl and load up tons more so that your creation is swimming in sauce/oil etc.
I watched one customer whom loaded up one bowl with items and another bowl with sauce/oil only. The senior cook told him the same thing he told me, “oh no, needs more sauce,” and then loaded the customer’s bowl up with more for him. There was so much sauce swimmingly sizzling on the the grill and intermingling with another customer’s dish it was gross to watch.
Most MBBQ places will add water to the grill if a dish has too little liquid.
Mystery Soup
At first glance, the soup looks like typical egg drop with cooked finely shredded carrots. With my first and only taste...salty, fishy, I cannot describe the flavor. Don’t do it.
Bottom Line
The name is deceiving and should be called “#2 Mongolian BBQ.” It’s been over 12 hours now and I still have heartburn and diarrhea that Tums and Immodium cannot cure. For not having anything spicy, this is just not right.
MBBQs are supposed to operate where customers can have their selections cleanly prepped, customizable, and be reasonably priced without any negative side effects. If that is your intention as was mine, then save your money and go elsewhere.

Read moreIf I could give this place a negative star I would and not because of the quality of the food but more so for what I witnessed today while eating. I witnessed the chef (manager so he yelled) verbally attack a female customer about the the amount of food she had. There were three people with medium sized bowls, two had bowls stacked high and this gal had her bowl filled at or less than theirs. The two people paid for a medium bowl. The cook told the woman she was going to have to pay for a large bowl because she had too much. She had less than I did when I brought my medium bowl up. It was apparent the lady was not trying to cause trouble she was soft spoken and very small. The man was absolutely rude yelling at her in front of everyone.
Absolutely unprofessional. I assume the woman asked to speak to his manager as I would of as well when I heard him yelling he was the manager. He kept yelling at her that she would pay for that bowl and she was trying to just leave as I would as well if you just made me look like that in front of everyone. This should have been handled so much more professionally. Attacking someone is absolutely not okay and it made me feel uncomfortable eating there. A manager should lead by example.
I will not be a returning customer, not because the food was bad or that something bad happened to me but because I was a paid customer watching a person get attacked in front of an entire room of people over what he considered was ‘too much by eyeballing’. And not attacked by a lack luster employee but a manager. I feel awful for the woman who was yelled at today and hope she isn’t as embarrassed as I would have been in that situation. Again, the issue should have been resolved with professionalism and kindness not belittling and kicking down of a soft spoken, sweet woman. Shame on management. You lost that customer I’m sure and this...
Read moreWent here a lot, enough to fill up a 10 stamp card with my wife. However we went 45mins before closing on a Saturday evening (February 19th 2017). They looked at us disgusted when we went in, but whatever we continued on because they close in 45mins and we were just going for take out. Then I got my large bowl, and my wife a medium and our two friends both got medium too. They gave my friends wife grief about her medium bowl and then told me I had to pay extra on my large, for an extra large, which by the way doesn't exist anywhere on the menu. I told them that was fine because I had a free card. When I went to the counter the server refused to discount my large bowl and instead did my wife bowl WITHOUT telling me after I asked for my large to be discounted. I argued and argued with him about it, however he refused, the cooks looked at us with glares. He proceeded to tell me that it was unfair to them that my large would be free because they get no money from the large so they will discount my medium. I proceeded to tell him no business I have EVER been to discounts the smallest bowl/drink. He then said no, I will not discount your large it is unfair. I told him it wasn't my problem they got no money from the large, I had already paid them TEN TIMES before that, I think they can toss me a bone and give me my large free. He refused, I finally decided it wasn't worth my time, paid the money and left. We will NOT be returning to this location again, and I will insure none of my friends do. I also work for a large local and international newsletter company, this will make a great article for one of our newsletters about customer service and how to insure your employees deliver a great experience.
