La Casita is a GEM! Plenty of parkin., On our last visit (6/26/19) they were already busy at 6pm, we were seated immediately. A basket of freshly baked corn tortilla chips with REAL house made salsa was instantly placed on our table and our order was taken. As we munched our chips, several more groups arrived and were quickly seated. Before long our food arrived. My wife had a chili relleno and tacos, and I had a beef enchilada and chili relleno, both included rice and refritos with no dearth of cheeses. Wifey was delighted with her meal, as was I. My relleno was perfectly authentic (not a mild concoction designed for most caucasions), and my enchilada was fully stuffed with shredded beef. The sauce was tangy and infused with at three different cheeses. This is a truly authentic Mexican restaurant! It's worth the drive to Idyllwild just to eat here. Due to the recent forest fire, the road from Banning is still closed. The road from Hemet has been reduced to one-way with alternating directions. Highway 74 from Palm Desert is the only clear route from the Inland Empire. From the coast area, make your way to Temecula, then take Hwy 79 to Aguanga, take Hwy 371 through Anza, then turn left onto Hwy 74. At mountain Center, turn right on Hwy 243. Continue into Idyllwild and turn right on North Circle Dr. La Casita will be a ways up the hill on the left. It's a fun...

Have been here with family and called not once but twice to make sure nothing has changed. Was told by two different employees that we could walk up put our name down and sit outside. Our son is on the spectrum so it is much easier for our family to sit outside.

Unfortunately upon arrival the patio was full so I asked the server how long the wait would be and she said she could check. When she returned she said there was no more outside seating for the rest of the night. I did not understand this as we had called about ten minutes prior to arrival.

Called in and spoke to Rebecca, who put me on hold while she checked on the situation and then went in circles about what happened. Finally she said that when we were leaving she came out to get us to sit us which didn't make sense to me since the patio was full and we asked for outside seating. Not sure where she was going to sit us, especially since her server said outside seating was done for the day.

Did speak to the GM, Robert, and he said he would be dealing with the situation upon his return. I hope he does but now our experience has been tainted and we hope Rebecca can improve from...

This place is AMAZING!! It started with one of th most beautiful , compassionate , intelligent and caring servers I have ever met in 30 years of being in the business greeting me. Her name was Jessica and she took care of me like a long lost friend. Starting with a deep fried ice cream because it was my birthday and I told her desert was my favorite! I can’t tell you how many restaurants get the bday desert wrong. But here I was celebrated by not only the staff with a song but also the customers joined in! Next I was given the BEST chx nacho EVER! I order this every time and every-time it is the perfect blend of shredded chicken , chips , beans , cheese and the ultimate sauce of jalapeno and olive oil!! Topped with jalapeños and I was in heaven! The service combined with every little wish being granted being treated like a king and a happy and grateful send off will make you wonder why would you go any where else? I’ll tell you this if I ever get back into the restaurant business I will be sending a dozen roses and an invite to Jessica to join my team! Best in the...

Holy moly. This place is amazing. The food is spectacular. The jalapeño sauce is life changing. The restaurant has outdoor seating that is dog friendly. Vinny offered to get them water which was a very thoughtful gesture. Nestor, our server, was professional and courteous. He made sure we were in want for nothing. We were eating in beautiful weather while being serenaded by a talented guitarist. The best part was meeting the owner, Roberto. He was friendly, warm, and engaging. This place is a must to visit if in the area.

Found great vegetarian options on the Hill. The veggie blend can be ordered in a smothered big burrito, tacos, tostada etc. Listed as vegetarian, their classic refried beans didn’t have lard (always hard to be sure) and the flaky fluffy Mexican rice wasn’t made with animal broth. It was really nice to enjoy these flavors with confidence. And the staff had no trouble omitting cheese and sour cream. And being gluten-free, I can attest the corn tortillas and chips and the ranchero sauce are indeed GF.

La Casita is in a class by itself for an outstanding Mexican dining experience. My family has been enjoying La Casita’s cuisine, Margaritas, and Beer for many years. My wife highly recommends their chicken quesadilla and a wine Margarita. I believe their Chile Relleno to be outstanding, and paired with a Modelo Negra you can’t go wrong. And Roberto’s Jalapeño Sauce is just plain one of a kind amazing! Delicious al fresco dining on their deck is a memory our family cherishes and keeps us coming back.
