Frankie Gianino’s Grill and Bar is located on Main Street in Imperial, MO. For starters, I ordered the Pumpkin Martini. It was listed as a “November” cocktail even though it was December. The martini flavoring was more reminiscent of eggnog than pumpkin; however, it tasted great. My suggestion is that the serving staff bring the cocktail before the main meal instead of afterwards. Shortly after I had placed my order, the salad and bread arrived. It tasted like homemade Italian white bread complete with sesame seeds on the outer crust. It was served warm with real butter in foil tucked under the bread so the butter would spread easier. The salad had pimientos, onions, St. Louis cheese (provel), and was quite tasty. I had only eaten half of it when the meal came. For me, this was ok because I planned on taking ½ the salad home with me. I ordered the Chicken Modiga. It was a boneless, fried chicken breast in a white wine sauce with lots of mushrooms. The main entree included a choice of white or red pasta. I chose the white pasta, which was smothered in a creamy, garlic cheese sauce. The portions were large enough for two meals for anyone who is a light eater like me. Except for the Pumpkin Martini arriving late, the service was excellent. This was my first time at Frankie Gianino’s, but other patrons were regulars. Repeat business is usually a sign that diners will get a good meal at a fair price. (Note: the specialty cocktails are pricey.) The best compliment I can give Frankie Gianino’s is that I would definitely eat there again.

Overall the food was pretty decent. The waitress that we ended up having was extremely attentive and seemed openly concerned if anything would be wrong. On that note if all of the waitstaff were trained and behave the same way I congratulate them. I had a Sicilian filet steak. Overall the cut of meat was superb. Very moist and tender. Cook was on point as well which we all know can be hard to find. Seemed a little excessive on the garlic but as I like garlic it worked for me. Maybe not so much for others. My other half had the beef and noodles. Aside from a plate big enough for 3 or more people. The dish was not bad. You can tell the food from this location is semi "from scratch". The flavors seem built and not packaged. The atmosphere had me a little off. As I was there in a Sunday early evening during football season. The environment was not so much family restaurant or even nice dining restaurant. It almost felt as if I was eating in a sports bar. So at $20+ a plate i think they may be slightly confused as to who they are. However that being said it would not shy me away from going again to try more dishes. Nor would id make me not reccomend (because I do).

I've been going to the Gianino's restaurants my whole life. The past couple of years the portions get smaller, prices go up, and rewards are fewer and far between. The pictured pizza was nearly $30, used to be $17. Also tried to get some frozen pizzas to go....which were out of stock. While the price on those hasn't raised they're still $10+ for a standard size frozen pizza. Rewards have pretty much went out the window too. Used to be earned at every $100, then $150, now who knows? A friend had holiday parties there for years and now they're told they can't because the rewards are pretty much nonexistent. Figure it out. There's no reason to be gouging the way you are. It's always busy and have had regulars forever. How are they rewarded? By getting bent over for an average pizza, lose rewards or don't even get asked for their rewards phone number in the first place. I'm done here until something drastic changes. Otherwise, y'all can have the same fate as when you messed up and lost Scottie's.

Frankie G's WAS a reliably consistent place to eat for years, whether it was lunch with friends, dinner with business associates, or a night out; Frankie G's was my go-to. NOT. ANYMORE. The last 2-3 times I have dined in the quality of the food has been lacking. I thought that it was a fluke, but it's not a fluke several times in a row. Being a small business owner (tenured retail shop in the county since 98) I also hesitated to leave a negative review...but that also changed when I dined in last night and my service was equally as bad as the huge lettuce stalk I had in my bland house salad last night. (The house salad that tasted like watery iceberg lettuce)

My husband was harassed at our table while the waitress (she was excellent) had my Amex card in the back- (hefty bill by the way) He had a small pinky size water steamer that is used in place of tobacco products AS WELL as in place of traditional electronic cigarettes and he DISCREETLY put it to his mouth... no odor. No vapor. Let's be clear. This was no different than putting a fork to a mouth. I assume it was the manager who rushed to our table to insist that there was a complaint. Impossible. Truly. However, perhaps if the dining room wasn't overcrowded with at least two tables, with ours being in the path of all traffic entering and leaving the restaurant... Then perhaps this would not have occurred... The manager was rude, condescending.... And reminisce of a stereotypical nerd in school who is harassed by the football team and cowers only to pipe back his retorts after they are out of earshot.... That is your manager, Frankie Gs. Spineless. Cowardly.

I won't be back. And neither will those...

We had not been here in several years. Should have left at that. We have been to Billy g's in Kirkwood alot. Now the critique. Service was below par. Waitress was semi attentive. The food. The wife and I both had the chicken spiedini sandwich. Both of ours were on the colder side. They definitely were not hot. The taste was semi, okay. However, not only were they cold, the sandwiches were also fairly dry. Very little, if any butter and garlic. She had a vegetable a side. I got french fries. The french fries were shoestring and had no life. No taste. Our adult kids had pizza. Little taste there. Typically, my son in law can eat most of a pizza by himself. He ate a little over a third. My daughter had one piece . Needless to say, they took home about a half a pizza. Why I don't know because nobody would eat it. The atmosphere. Not much going on there. I can't tell you, be careful where you sit. Where I was sitting, it was right by an aisle in which one of the servers was carrying a tray and promptly elbowed me in the head as he walked through with someone's tray of food. By comparison. Billy g's beats this place hands down. Not even close. So, I never can imagine going back to this place or endorsing it. X-OFF...
