Just left this restaurant... this has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am only giving it a one star due to the fact that the food was good. So I walk in and sit at the bar where there was a little girl who may have been there with her parent (who works there). So as I sit there about 7 waitresses walk past me and never notice me. Even the little girls mother stopped to check on her, looked at me and kept walking. By now I'm thinking maybe no one is working the bar area, so I stopped a waiter and asked to order. She then stopped and took my order. Then two white men walk in and before they could even grab their seats at the bar area about 5 waiters run over to greet them and ask them for their orders. This had truly upset me and I couldn't even finish my meal. I went to the cashier to pay and told a manager about my experience, he waived it off as if it was nothing. As I explained to him.. it was like he didn't want to hear it. I couldn't believe it! You're a nationally known restaurant and this is how you treat customers? WOW! This is serious and he needs to address his staff about customer service and racial bias training. As we watch this happen every where in the world today it makes me angry and upset that we still have to deal with racial inequality in 2018. If your are African American please be aware if you decide to sit at the bar area at this Bob Evans.. maybe you'll have a better experience. Or maybe not even eat here. Good luck! Will not visit this location again.
Today- 07/15 After my review the General Manager- Adam Byers emailed me and offered that I come in for a second time to get the customer service that Bob Evans is known for. Friendly and welcoming! I brought my family in today for breakfast and met Adam at this location. The wait time was not too long and we were seated. Our waitress was very prompt and attentive and the food did not take too long to be served. She was awesome, I am truly upset that I can’t remember her name! The staff today was friendly, attentive and welcoming. Thank you again for showing that Bob Evans can be that “Friendly Down on the...
Read moreOnly thing that saves this from being a one star rating is the food was good. I ordered online the night before and got a confirmation email that my double entree meal would be ready for pickup at 1:30 PM the following day. I had 8 people coming for dinner at 2 so this would give me plenty of time to get home in time to have it ready when my guests arrive. I arrived at the restaurant about 1:35 and didn’t see any bags waiting in the pickup area so just stood at the carry out register waiting for someone to come up and ask me about my order. Many workers passed by with no inkling to ask me what I was there for and finally after 10 minutes had to ask someone if my order was ready. He just said “they are still working on it. It will be about 10 minutes”. He never asked my name so not sure how he knew what order I was there for. After another 15 minutes with no food or update I asked another gentleman at the register what was going on with my order. I gave him my name and he said they are still working on it. I finally got my food about 2:30 so about an hour late. No explanation, no apology! I had paid by credit card and added a 15% tip so really unhappy with my service and lack of caring by everyone there. It was like I was invisible! It also caused a lot of issues with my dinner party being delayed and aggravation for myself. It will be a long time before I ever go back to this restaurant. Can’t have this...
Read moreLast night my husband and I stopped at Bob Evans for a late dinner. We had an exceptionally good waitress, however, despite the restaurant being fairly empty, the kitchen was slow (not the waitress!) I ordered the chicken pecan salad and it looked good initially until I found something funky in it and as it turns out it was a piece of egg carton - disgusting. The waitress took it back to the manager who apologized (almost laughing about) and asked if he could do anything for us. At that point I just wanted out of there, and although we were polite the only offer he made was to have another salad made for me. (Like NO!) I had lost my appetite so no offer of food would be acceptable at that point. He did take the salad off the bill (I would think so!) but made no offer of a gift coupon to consider returning there. I must tell you years ago at the Denny's across the way a spider dropped down from the ceiling into my eggs, landing in the YOK. If this wan't enough when I moved my plate away there were ants on the table. That manager at that time smiled and laughed and offered me a new meal - like I was going to eat there in that mess? It has been over 25 years and we have not stepped back in there. I work in customer service and I would do anything to right an issue that puts a black mark on my reputation. How does Bob Evans deal with this, laugh at the situation because you have no idea what else...
