We'd never tried Bonefish Grill before but saw an advertisement for $5.00 drinks on Mondays and decided to try it. We were originally quoted a 30-60 minute wait for either the bar or a table. The restaurant was not full, so we were a little surprised at that wait time. A couple seats opened at the bar about 15 minutes in and the bartender allowed us to sit. Unfortunately, it took awhile to clear away the dishes from the previous diners so we were sitting with the remnants of someone else's dinner in front of us, but eventually it was cleaned and we were able to order drinks. The bar was clearly in a frenzy, the people working at the bar seemed extremely stressed and let us know that it was only the second week of the drink special and that it was difficult to handle. They did the bare minimum in our one round of drinks, they were not very friendly and never even asked if we wanted food or another drink. After 30 minutes we noticed many people being sat in the dining room and checked in with the hostess. She advised us to just take one of the tables in the bar. We closed out our bar tab and moved to the table.
We tried to order strawberry sidecar martinis, but apparently the bar had run out of Remy, they were able to sub the Remy for Hennessy, but wanted to charge us extra even though we only originally asked for the regular cocktail. The fact that they ran out of Remy seems to be a Bonefish Grill problem, not a customer problem, but apparently the bar felt differently so we did not order it.
For dinner, we ordered the bang bang shrimp, the coconut shrimp and the crab crusted orange roughy. The bread and the oil was very tasty, we really enjoyed it. The bang bang shrimp somehow arrived 3 minutes after we ordered it. That is not an exaggeration. I don't think I've ever received an appetizer so fast in my life. I was happy about that until I discovered that the appetizer was just lukewarm. The breading was also falling off of the shrimp, so we didn't enjoy it as much as we could've. Unfortunately, we also did not have silverware and when we got some the napkin of one of the sets was dirty with some kind of white crusty substance. Also an unpleasant surprise.
The coconut shrimp were very hot and the shrimp, broccoli and risotto were all very tasty and well seasoned. The orange roughy was not as enjoyable, but the corn that came with it was great.
There were some other missteps that I won't mention here, but it seems that the front of the house may be understaffed and simply unprepared for the volume that the $5.00 drinks brought. For it to be our first time, it just wasn't the best impression. That said, the bright spot in this visit was definitely Claire who was our waitress, she took great care of us and definitely made up for the subpar treatment of the bar. She was extremely friendly and took...
Read moreYesterday I went out with my boyfriend here. I had THE WORST EXPERIENCE! I spent 150 dollars for the food and service to be horrible. First when I was walking in a lady who worked there cut me off and ducked in the door didn’t say excuse me and didn’t even hold it to where it hit me. That through me complete off which should have been my first sign. I get in there and the lady is now saying it’s a 30 minute wait when I see multiple open tables for somebody to tell her no they no on a wait anymore. So we went from 30 min wait to we can get you seated ok. We sit down I order a drink which was the best thing literally which is sad ! The server took years to come back to place our order when I seen her multiple times going to tables around me. She finally gets there I put my order in I tell her no bacon on the soup and I order a appetizer the shrimp which never came and I was still charged she then stated at the end I should of told her like I would of if you ever came back to the table like you can just tell she didn’t care ! Anyways my boyfriend orders lobster and I order the pasta which was flavorless and nasty so didn’t eat because the soup was nasty too . She also never brung silver ware and I had to ask somebody because again she never came back so when she did I asked for my check immediately like I was so ready to go . I order fish tacos to go because as I stated I didn’t eat which were bad to ! It was a horrible experience with the horrible server who didn’t care to meet needs and it’s so saddening because I was ready to tip her and have a good time. I will be calling today to state my experience because I’m still thinking about it and mad I spent all that money for the food that was wasted and the horrible service. I will never in my entire life be back ! And I will tell nobody but horrible things !
EDITED: Someone reached out to me about my review and told me to email them, I did just that. They were very polite and apologetic, they offered me a $200 meal on them. I was very skeptical because of my first incident, which I rarely try places again after bad experiences because I'm really big on customer service. But I was promised none of that would happen and they would make my next experience remarkable. The coupon came in the mail, and I didn't use it for a while as I was still scared. Eventually I told my sisters to just let's go for some girl time and when I tell you we ALL had an amazing time. The server was on point the food was really good and the drinks were also. My experience went from I will never step foot in here again to I will definitely be back. Honestly, I just appreciate it a lot because some restaurants and staff don't care, but Bone Fish did, and I love that a lot. Thank you to whoever reached out to me and made me, and my sisters experience amazing,...
Read moreMy wife, her daughter, and I went to Bonefish Grill for dinner.
We've been to this Bonefish before and have always been very happy with the experience. Tonight was no exception!
We expected good food and we got it. We expected reasonably good service and we were blown away by Amanda F.'s service at our table. We also noted that the entire crew seemed to be relatively happy and they helped each other out as the place got busier.
My wife ordered the filet mignon with green beans and mashed potatoes. Her daughter ordered the chicken marsala, also with green beans and mashed potatoes. I ordered the sirloin and shrimp combo with jasmine rice and a cup of the corn and crab lump chowder.
Amanda F. greeted us within a minute of our being seated. She was very pleasant to talk to and seemed to genuinely care about us enjoying our dinner there. She took our drink orders and brought them to the table very quickly, along with a loaf of bread and the house dipping sauce.
Dinner was delivered sooner than I expected, which is great! Our steaks were cooked exactly as we ordered them and had absolutely fantastic flavor! The chicken marsala was also very tasty. The sides were good, but my wife's green beans were cold. Amanda F. came back to our table to check on our dinner and immediately got a new serving of green beans ordered. They were delivered just a few minutes later.
Three adult beverages, three great meals, and two delicious desserts later, we were completely satisfied!
The manager, Ken, stopped by our table and we told him how happy we were with our visit. He noted that he had a very good crew working for him and he tries to make sure everyone (guests and crew) enjoys their time at the restaurant.
All in all, a very good dinner for a reasonable price. With tax, our bill was about $110. It was well worth it!
Thank you, Amanda F. and Ken! You made our dinner experience...
