Smoothie King — Restaurant in Independence

OMG I love this place! I'm a creature of habit and always get the same thing, the Angel Food. It's strawberrys and bananas, turbinado with low fat milk. But once I ordered my drink as a slim. This is when they use Stevia instead of turbindo. (Turbinado is a fancy name for sugar. Although its not processed, its raw. Think brown crystals) The woman at the drive through window told me to taste it and if I didn't like it she would make me something else. She also said the options are endless. I could do no Stevia but only half the sugar or no sugar at all. She also told me in the summer the fruit is naturally sweeter so it could taste sweeter. My recent step out of "the box" is I add raspberries. Add in's are extra ($2) but it can be fruit or supplements like protein powder, collagen, vitamins, prebiotic etc. And alot of times if you add 2 then the 3rd one is free. I usually add raspberries, collagen and protein. Smoothie King is as healthy as you want it to be. Just because they serve it doesn't mean it's totally good for you. Most regular flavor combinations have the turbinado sugar unless notated. The sugar in mine equals that of a soft drink. But I'd rather have it in this fruity cold frosty drink. I look at it as it might have the sugar but it also has the fruit and benefits that I really don't get anywhere else. I also usually get it as a meal replacement. They have a rewards program with a kiosk to scan everytime you buy you get points. And they transfer to money off a purchase. Also the have Styrofoam cups, which is a total game changer for me in the hot and humid summer days of the Midwest. So I advise to give it a try. I bought a smoothie and when I took a sip of it a piece of plastic got stuck in my throat, I almost hit a Semi, my daughter was crying and scared, I had to pull over because I couldn’t breathe. I called the store and they told me to come in. The assistant manager and the young lady that were there were very nice and felt horrible. Sad thing off all you would think after being notified the store manager would call right away or the owner but no one has bothered to call, this was very serious. I’m great full at the two young ladies at store for being so sweet, but honestly Disappointed at the store manager and the owner. To add Insult to injury I ended up going up there because it was almo4 and no one had called, when I got there Manager told me she was busy doing interviews that’s why she didn’t call me, when I was talking to her this gentleman kept lost me and then manager asked if I wanted to speak to owner, I told her yes and I asked where he or she was and it was the guy looking at me. The Nerve of this guy and to add more even more insult he made the excuse that he was gonna call me when they did their own investigation and that they had had this happened before but it was a different kinda plastic, then when all said and done he offers me 4 smoothies Hahahaha like my daughter and my life at risk was...

What a horrible experience. The app needs to hire a user experience designer so that it's intuitive and never takes your order out the cart regardless of location. Second I ordered at 6pm said it would be ready by 6:21pm I arrived at 6:30 and still nothing. The girl proceeds to make the wrong order and of course I tell her this isn't ours. Mind you the entire reason I used the app was to save time as it's on the way as I'm rushing my daughter to cheer and we're hungry. She says she'll make another one, I tell her no we don't have time I need a refund ASAP. She has to go to the back office telling me I'll get an email regarding my refund which I will haven't received. I don't recommend this location at all take the extra drive to Blue Springs or...
