Taqueria El Jalisciense — Restaurant in Independence

I work at the school so was looking for something in the area. Out of the few mexican restaurants I looked at, I picked this one because of its variety assortment of meats. I'm originally from San Antonio Texas born half mexican so I'm very use to having close to authentic Mexican food. I ordered the tacos with all different meats because I wanted to try them all. I ordered the tripa, lengua, cabeza, chicharron and buche. I have to tell you that these tacos were all perfect and very delicious. Salsa, limes , jalapeños came with all of it. I don't normal write to many reviews unless I really enjoyed a place, or hated it. This is definitely so far my number 1 mexican taco spot on Missouri. Highly recommend if you are looking for something authentic. Waitress that took my order was very friendly and despite my spanish being rusty, communicated with me very well. I never actually tried buche before so she offered me some for free and it was delicious. It's authentic. Tacos were excellent. Salsa isn't as good as the Taco Tequila Bar, Hillsboro, MO, home of the best street taco salsa north of the border, but otherwise, the meat was marinated and seasoned, cooked well, came up quickly considering how busy they were, and the lady that took my order was prompt and polite. The food was amazing each time I've dined here and that's been a total 4 times just within May. Food is hot, reasonably portioned out, and the meat and veggies are flavorful. Staff is friendly as well.

I do wish they would invest in a menu where you can visibly see all the food items and the prices next to it. I've ordered one of their meals three times now and each time I was given a different price.
