La Fuente Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Independence

I don't like this place at all. The only good thing in the menu is Polo Feliz. They have this grilled chicken tacos that contain only chicken. Isn't it tacos come with lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and chopped onions which should be inside the tacos? Well, the chicken taco is only chicken and comes with this pico de gallo on the side that is very little. It's not even enough to put inside 1 taco. I ask the waitress to give me more because what she gave me is not enough on 1 taco. Well, she told me that's all it comes with it. She can't even give me more pico de gallo without charging me extra for it. Tomatoes and onions are cheap. She is so stupid. Doesn't she know that if customer ask for more you suppose to give them more without extra charge? And their cheese sauce looks really pale like a someone's vomit. And, their prices are not really reasonable either. I am wandering how this place still exist and not bankrupt or out of business. They need a serious overhaul on their menu. They overcharge their customers too much. Just basically no lettuce and veggies come with the meal like regular Mexican restaurant. The foods just look yellow and no life. I would not recommend this place. If you want a good Mexican restaurant go to Los Tules on Broadway in Kansas City. It's a waste of your money to come here. We went to eat here this evening and there was only one other table occupied. The other table had a friendly, attentive waiter, but we were stuck with the worst waitress ever. She took a long time to seat us, took too long to refill our chips, never refilled our drinks (the other waiter eventually asked to help us), never cleared the table (again, the other waiter stepped in), but worst of all this happened: As she was taking our food order my daughter accidentally spilled her Sprite all over the table and over herself. The waitress noticed it but proceeded to ask us about our food order. We requested something to clean it up but she insisted on getting the rest of the order in. We again asked for something, but she ignored us. We unwrapped all the silverware to use the napkins to clean up as best as we could as our waitress disappeared. She didn't return so we searched our bag for anything we could use to clean the table. When the waitress finally brought the food we, again, asked for napkins or anything else to clean up. By the time she finally brought a pile of napkins the Sprite had completely dried to the table, the booth, and our clothes.

The evening was ruined and we will never be back.

The absolute worst Mexican food I've ever had. The restaurant was clean. Booth seats worn. I asked to move as the booth had extensive damage.(3) Ordered shrimp enchiladas with queso instead of enchilada sauce. I'd overhead the next table order. No pics available - low battery. The 3 enchiladas consisted of tortillas wrapped around 3 grilled shrimp. Absolutely nothing inside the tortilla but 3 lonely shrimp. Each enchilada was topped with 1 grilled shrimp. I unwrapped the shrimp and sat the poor tortilla to rest on the edge of the plate. No needto use those carbs.. There was lettuce and tomato served with the spanish rice. By the way, the next table also made a comment about the naked shrimp enchiladas. The rice was very good. The queso for chips wasn't hot, so it was requested that it be warmed. (1) The waiter was very jovial and was working tables indoors and outside (5). One table had a celebration going on...had a whole 750 ml bottle of Patron taking shots with the waite staff. LOL. Not kidding! Not returning. *Always tip your waite staff. They're providing a service....
