I’ve been a loyal customer at the Jersey Mike’s in Indian Trail for over 11 years, but unfortunately, the quality of service has gone downhill in recent years.
Calling in an order is no longer reliable. It's almost guaranteed to be incorrect. And when a mistake is brought to the staff’s attention, their attitude is dismissive or annoyed.
Today, I ordered in person hoping that would improve the experience. While the order was prepared correctly, when I got home, I discovered the chicken salad tasted spoiled. On top of that, it was so heavily seasoned with pepper it was inedible. I called to inform the store, and they told me I could exchange the sub if I returned it. However, I had already thrown it away. Why would I keep something that could potentially cause food poisoning?
Even more concerning, after I was given a replacement sub, I was told that their manager said I should no longer return to that location. When I asked who the manager was, I was told “Sharney.” No one wears a name tag, so I cannot confirm. I want to be clear: I was not rude or disrespectful during this entire interaction. In fact, I’ve always treated the staff with kindness and patience. I believe, as a paying customer, I have the right to expect my food to be made properly without being treated with hostility.
It was also extremely unprofessional for an employee to ask if I was my daughter’s mother and then suggest I shouldn’t come back. My daughter worked at this location when she was 15 and experienced bullying while employed there. She also witnessed inappropriate behavior among staff including drug use and dealing inside the store.
Frankly, this location appears to have high turnover and very little professionalism. Every visit, it’s a new, often inexperienced team.
I will not be intimidated or bullied out of visiting a business I have supported for over a decade. But based on how customers and former employees are treated, it’s clear this location has serious internal issues that need to...
Read moreI will start by stating I love Jersey Mike's, BUT I have contempt for this particular location. We have purchased from this location 6-8 times within the last 2 years and every time we have the same issue with their product meeting the Jersey Mike's standard. Let me repeat that... EVERY TIME! I speak of this standard only in the context that many moons ago I spent significant time working in multiple Jersey Mike's locations across the Charlotte area, and even had the opportunity to meet and talk with Peter Cancro (Jersey Mike's CEO) multiple times. Their sandwiches are supposed to meet fairly strict guidelines and weights. This is where this location drops the ball. It appears they are so concerned with food costs that a sufficient portion of meat and cheese on a sandwich is not a priority to them. I am 100% certain that their sandwiches do not make weight. It has been more than six months since our previous visit before this evening and we will never return to this location again. Instead, we will continue driving 30 minutes to the next closest location that has served us well every visit. I have added a couple of photos from this evening's purchase, a giant #9, for all concerned parties to view with there own judgement. This sandwich is not even as bad as some we received other visits. Would you pay...
Read moreI walked in today, ready to indulge in my usual Jersey Mike’s love fest, only to experience what can only be described as a food safety nightmare. I made my order and the girl at the counter (exactly 12:18 pm on Thursday, February 6th—yes, I’m traumatized) didn’t change her gloves after cleaning the counter with a wet rag. She continued to slice my bread with those same, grimy gloves. But the worst part? She pushed my bread directly into the rag she just used to wipe the counter. Yes, the dirty, wet rag that I’m sure had seen all sorts of nastiness.
Naturally, I asked her to move the towel off my bread, and she had the audacity to toss it on my girlfriend’s sandwich. At that point, I reached my hand behind the counter to move the disgusting towel, only for the employee to shame me, telling me not to reach behind the counter. I mean, seriously?! Lady, you just contaminated my food with a rag that's probably touched everything under the sun, and you’re telling me to keep my hands to myself?
I’m furious, disgusted, and completely repulsed. This place has officially lost my business. I’ll go out of my way to eat at any other Jersey Mike's, because this was beyond unacceptable. Learn to handle food properly. I’ll...
