I've been to many of the coffeehouses in central PA - Commonplace is the best one I've visited, and have been for a few years. Reasons being: comfortable atmosphere, which encourages people to relax, study, or socialize; excellent coffee, especially the lattes, crafted well with custom housemade flavors; ample, free parking; great location, proximal to IUP campus with multiple entry points; professional baristas, cute ones at that; assorted pastries, limited types but tasteful and rotated. I didn’t have time to sit and enjoy the cafe, but it’s a unique location inside a larger building with an atrium. They have really interesting whole bean coffees available. There was a special on an anaerobic natural from Rwanda (never had coffee from there before) so I got that and their decaf, which was a blend of Columbian coffees. I’ve really been enjoying both.
