We stopped in for dinner. The place is absolutely gorgeous. The woods and outdoor patio area with stage for live music was fabulous.
We chose to eat on the upper deck and we had a great exposure to the live music too. The restaurant was very busy, but we know why. The staff is so warm and friendly and you gotta love a place where everyone pitches in for service and support. It's clear the team really enjoys working here and with each other!
The deck gets sunny and hot later in the afternoon so make sure to try and sit strategically where one of the wall fans can keep you cool! We didn't know this and it got toasty for us after a while.
We started with a couple of specialty cocktails with a berry spin and the Brussel sprouts starter.
These might be some of the very best sprouts we've ever had. It's a real art to get the center of sprouts to be tender and flavorful. These were amazing and the sriracha glaze is so full of Smokey flavor and a perfect kick at the end. Super great.
Teresa got the wedge salad and I was going to get the fish and chips, but their fish fryer was down, so I went with my back up, the meat loaf. Teresa really enjoyed the wedge, it was fresh and very nicely appointed with cheese crumbles too!
The meatloaf was less successful. I have to say the mashed potatoes were really flavorful and the green beans were perfectly prepared too. The saucy drizzle on the meat loaf didn't taste good to me and it took away from the dish, sadly.
I noticed they had a bacon onion jam that they put on their burgers and so I repeatedly ask for a small serving as I knew it would change the meatloaf for the better.
After waiting quite a while for the jam what I got was more of the sauce I had worked to get off the meatloaf! Made me sad, I'm a big meat loaf fan, but I left most of the portion uneaten. Really a shame too.
Alex was our server and he worked very hard but both the bar and the kitchen were incredibly slow. And it took quite a while to get a second round of cocktails too.
I ordered a slice of blueberry cheesecake to go, but when we got back to our BnB, it hadn't come with any utensils so I had to go hunting for a spoon or something in the kitchen downstairs. It's not a big deal really, but it's worth a mention for the future. Easy to drop a spoon or fork into the box.
All in all, we had a great experience thanks to the staff's enthusiasm and pitching in, the cocktails, and the super delish sprouts and wedge salad.
Thanks to Alex for really working hard for us! We'll likely be back at some point just to try again!
Nashville, Indiana is a beautiful area and if you have a chance to get here check out the area...
Read moreWe went here on the 4th of July, and what a mistake. I called the week before to make reservations and asked what time the band would start, they told me 6 PM. They said they had reservations starting at 6:30, so I said okay! We arrived a little late concerned we wouldn't have our table, but to our dismay the place was barely half full, no band, and a rude attitude. I asked them where the band was, and they said oh, that's only on the weekends. I said then why did you lie to me on the phone? Again rude attitude. So I said well I'm starved let's eat, so we sat down and waited, I kid you not, half an hour for someone to come over and give us our water and place our orders. At that point I was pretty upset, but then it gets worse! The server forgot us. We waited another half an hour for our food to arrive. She couldn't even apologize, just looked at the floor sheepishly. Look, the liquor here is fantastic, they're doing a great job that way. But I really don't think anybody wants to drive to Nashville to work here, they are hiring like crazy and just cannot get the place employed. If they cannot do a proper 4th of July celebration, then they should close on this date. I will never go back here ever again. They could have at least refunded our food money, apologized, even acknowledge what they did wrong. Disgusting service. They really need to hire a professional company to get this place together. I don't anticipate that it will be open much longer...
Read moreI don't usually post bad reviews and tired to resolve this in a polite and respectful manor. But that for us nowhere. Horrible service even after talking to manager. Our dining experience was 2 hours and 20 minutes . The food was not bad but we will not be back. Party of 9 with 3 being kids . Chicken tender meals for kids didn't come out at same.time . Double cheese burger came out as singe they took entire plate back fries and side so he sat there with nothing to eat and didn't get his food until everyone was done eating which was 45 minutes after most of us were served. And only after I checked with waitress, she came back and said sorry it's going to be awhile the kitchen is backed up there has been a lot of orders placed since yours!!!. My daughter's cocktail never came out when I asked status waitress came back with sorry they lost the order. My husband ordered his hamburger med rare it came out well done and very dry My other daughter had hair in her Mac n cheese waitress said she would take it off bill. In the end we had to fight to get it taken off the bill. I spoke to the Manager and not once did she say she was sorry for all our troubles. It was evident they really didn't care...
