I would have given it a 5 star because of the tastiest most delicious Tuna Tower alone, and the restaurant is beautiful but there are some significant problems that need serious attention before customers giving up on eating at this restaurant! First time, my family of 5 had come to this restaurant we had to wait 45 minutes to get water! The there came the salad only for one out of five, then came salad or soup for the rest! It followed by dinner for the same person of five! Then came the dinner for 3 & we had finished our meals & my husband was still waiting to his dinner! To put it in a single & simple word, the service was a Disaster!
Today my friend & I went there for the first time after our last family dinner but I have ordered the Tuna Tower for pick up a few times since!
Today our waitress was very nice & the Tuna Towers were delicious as usual! The ceviche was a little bland but it can be helped with adding a little zest to it with maybe a little more lemon juice, & something to make it pop as you expect of the taste of Ceviche!
That said, that part was the least of our worries today! What ruined the mood from the very beginning was when we just walked in to an almost empty restaurant at the inside with just a handful of tables with diners seated sporadically spread out through out the restaurant!
We asked to be seated by the window where there were only two tables occupied, one with 4 people & the other with 2, with 2 or 3 empty tables remaining by the window! The pleasant young hostess at the front smiled & said, âOf course m, no problem,â but right then a black young lady who seemed really uptight from the get go & honestly, nothing short of rude, curtly said, âNo, I canât sit you there because I just sat someones at the table there & itâs too much for the server to handle!â
My friend & I looked at each other as to, was she being serious? Were we being punked? As I explained already, there were only 2 tables occupied in that side & there were empty tables all over & only 2 occupied by the window & if the server can only handle 2 tables instead if 3, then they have a much bigger problem than that!
She then took us exactly the opposite side of the restaurant & she sat us against the wall at the bar area! AND, to make the matters worse, there came others who she sat on the same tables that we had requested to sit by the windows! Therefore, if they were able to serve now 4 tables by the window, then the server could handle 3, which is one less that 4 tables! Thus the problem was not the server but the person who was deciding where to sit us!
It felt as she has issues with power struggle & wanted to make it known that she is the one in charge! With that kind of an attitude, she needs to be working where there is no interaction with people in any service industry! I felt that the way she acted was as if she hated her job! She looked at me without a hint of inviting, kindness, softness or friendliness in her eyes & exactly the opposite! Her attitude was disturbing!
At last but not least, if I didnât have an old friend in town that I was entertaining & had taken her to lunch, I wouldâve spoken up but not to ruin our dining any further, I put up with it & showed no reaction at all! During the time we were eating, she was doing something standing behind the short wall, facing me & my friendâs back was towards her, when periodically our eyes met since I was looking at my friendâs direction which was the same direction as the woman, the expression in her eyes were really cold & chilling as if she was either absolutely miserable with herself, her life, her job or hateful with me or anyone else in that matter! If looks could kill, I should be dead instantly! I truly get chills when I think about how cold she...

One of those places where you can immediately tell you're eating off the happy hour menuâand not in a charming âbargain findâ way. We went during happy hour and, ironically, service was anything but quick. To top it off, our table was sticky enough to make me wonder if it was doubling as a fly trap.
Food-wise, the shishito peppers were the MVP. SautĂŠed with citrus, tamari, and togarashi, they had a bright, savory kick that actually felt like it belonged in a proper kitchen. If the whole meal had been at that level, Iâd be raving.
The Ceviche R was decentânice, fresh lime flavor, good shrimp and tilapia, though it was crying out for more tortilla chips. We were left scooping with sadness by the end.
But then came the sushi rolls⌠oh boy. These felt designed less for taste and more for filling your stomach with rice like a cheap motel packs guests.
Crunchy Blue: 6.5/10 generously. Overloaded with rice, minimal crab mix. The crispy panko and eel sauce couldnât hide how skimpy it was on actual seafood. Roja R: 4/10. Bigeye tuna and yellowtail sounded great on paper but got lost in a sea of bland rice and weird soy paper that clashed with everything. Lion King R: Another 4/10. Same storyâlots of rice, precious little fish, plus a wrapping job that seemed more structural engineering than culinary artistry.
It all felt like sushi engineered to pad margins during happy hour rather than delight the diner.
Drinks were the saving grace. The Raspberry Mojito was sweet and refreshing, while the Sangria Spritz was surprisingly well-balanced, with just enough prosecco sparkle to keep me from despair.
Honestly, if it weren't for the shishito peppers and the drinks, this would be a solid one-star experience. I'd come back for those two, but if you're hoping for memorable sushi, you might want to cast your...
Read moreSo lets be fair, I want to start with the positives. The flavor of the food and the presentation of the food was quite good. Not the best sushi I have had but a solid effort. Another positive, they have procedures in place for a variety of food alergies. My son has celiac and I went with a friend who does not eat dairy. So the fact that they have accomodations is great.
Now let's get to the reason for the low score.
Service--our waitress was impatient, not very attentive, friendly or personable.
Price-- The location prepared us for a higher price pont, but even acounting for that the price was high.
Portion size-- if one is going to pay more, leaving satiated is a must. We paid double what we normally pay at our regular gluten free sushi place, and we left with hunger pangs. When I say small I mean sashimi so thin you could see the plate through it. This is fine, if you are going to have more pieces, but for most of the plates it was much smaller individual pieces than at any sushi place I have been to ever, and fewer pieces than any place I have been to ever.
The interior--the inside had too loud music and while the paper cranes hanging were charming the overal decor felt forced, the music overwhemed any ambiance they might have been seeking to create and while the bench seeting outside was comfortable the high-top chairs were super uncomfortable.
The water-- the default eater they serve had cucumber in it...which we thought might be crisp and refreshing but just tasted off. Combine that with the not cold enough/no ice...it was not refreshing.
This place is for someone who wants to brag about paying a lot for the sake of paying a lot and go to a trendy place for the sake of beeing...
