Rize is a part of the Cunningham Group, another one of it's restaurants. Ideal for those who want to have morning meetings or online work as a customer. Food does take a while up to 15 or so minutes. Trust me, a lot of patience is required for the stomach to have the energy to finish the big plates for a big portion (depending the plate you have) You want something sweet in the morning? Go ahead and try the crepes from Rize, with the lemon juice mixed in the blueberries it's surprisingly not sour or bitter. Instead it gives this sweeter concoction that gives a more strong flavor. The cream inside the crepes is just as filling and tasty than others I had before. The jelly on top not only shows to be decorating piece but gives the crepe a good reason to be thin. About 4 in a half or 5 inches each crepe is, so no need to worry if it's a small portion for a high price. The biscuits and grave are very big. You love a biscuit that's warm and fluffy then by all means go ahead and eat it. The gravy isn't spicy like other restaurants would give a punch to the mouth. However it is an ideal breakfast for those with gastritis or inflammatory stomach's. The biscuits are easy to cut through like a sponge cake. Beautifully cut with just the tip of a knife. As for a side a potato I ordered, I expected it to be small but no completely took me by surprise when I saw it the size of a pastry tart. Crunchy and little flavor if your a fan of adding a lot of black...
Read moreAnother over-rated Indy restaurant with the same, trendy decor. "Let's do industrial chic, with hints of mid-century modern.". ....news flash: it's played out.
The server was a bit of a bumbling mess. Forgotten drinks, just pretty poor service. Asked for unsweetened tea, was assured it was sugar free....then I was surprised to find it was loaded with sugar, when it finally arrived.
Food: Beet salad was 90% carrots and a couple of beet pieces mixed with other ingredients. Hardly a beet salad.
Chicken chopped salad:. The strange thing is, was that it wasn't chopped at all. Lettuce mix was regular spring mix. The chicken was presented as large pieces. When I asked the waiter about it, he said he didn't know. 5 minutes later, the chef came out and asked what was wrong with it. I politely said that it wasn't a chopped salad, if it's not chopped. I was told that's the way they do it there.
The whole experience reeked of arrogance. Spend less time trying to be cool, and focus on cooking well, with correct, quick, and reasonably priced offerings.
Oh, and most patrons who go to these places won't admit to themselves that they've been taken. The social norm is to laud such a place, well...because that's what...
Read moreWe were excited for a nice breakfast as everything about our stay here has been excellent. We don’t get out to nice places often so we are usually pretty easy to please. To start, the food was average, but what really got our attention was the (lack of) service. I’m not sure if we were ever assigned a waiter as it seemed like the hostess and bus person were waiting on us. We never received part of our order. We were never checked on. No one asked how we were doing or how the food was. The person took our order, dropped off food without saying anything, and then after we were finished for 10 or 15 minutes someone new dropped off a check without saying anything. We didn’t get even a second of anyone’s time to mention that we are rewards members so we didn’t even get our rewards points for our visit. I would not recommend this restaurant when there are plenty of other options in the area who are happy to provide a good meal and...
