I ordered a veggie poke bowl. It was the least impressive I've had for a long time. The menu mistakenly say that no protein is available for the veggie bowl, actually, there is a tofu option available which other restaurants regularly treat as a primary protein these days, and give it the appropriate respect . Unfortunately, Poke Brothers has no idea how to treat tofu. They just throw in chunks of cold, plain silken tofu. I get poke bowls all over the country during my business trips. Better places use firmer tofu and at least marinate it, if not fry or bake it to give it more texture. Also, I had salad as my base... they used head lettuce? Where are the spring greens? Where is the arugula? Everything else was also pretty nondescript and there were few ingredient choices. Items such as black beans, broccoli, hummus, lentils, pickled onions, quinoa, etc., would have been very appreciated. Pretty disappointing. It was like someone picked ingredients they had in their home refrigerator and threw into a bowl, cold, and gave it an exotic...
Read moreWe often drive through Indianapolis going between Chicago and destinations South and East. It's always lunchtime when we hit Indianapolis, and Poke Bros. is now our favorite stop. The fish is really fresh (none of my family has had ANY issues after 8 visits in the last year). My current favorite is the Ponzu (sweet citrus) sauce with the marinated tuna. I get half and half sushi rice and salad for a healthy base. [Spoiler alert: gross discussion] Grandpa has lots of dietary issues, and (unlike many lunch stops such as Mexican or burgers), he does NOT fill the car with digestive gasses after a Poke lunch break. (Yay!!!) Also, I really enjoyed the (what was it muzu? Buzu?) Mochi. Even the weird-sounding flavors are good. The bathrooms are very nice...

Initially, it’s reasonably priced, but they seem to charge extra for a lot of items like mango and avocado. There’s other poke spots in Indy that have similar levels of freshness and taste, where these items are included in the price of the poke bowl. They also do not mix the fish with sauces you choose separately, rather they add it on top of the bowl. But still, it’s always nice to have a fresh tasty poke bowl, and Poke...
