I have lived in Broad Ripple for years and have been coming here fairly often for a while now and have never had an experience like this but today was awful and very disappointing/sad. I walked up to the register and was not greeted to start after making eye contact with the cashier. I said "hello" very politely and smiled only for her to take another sip of her drink then roll her eyes before stepping up to the register. She started typing to open up an order (still no greeting) so I just smiled at her again awkwardly not knowing if she was ready to tale my order or not. She finally said "hi how are you" with a fake smile and sarcastic tone which caught me off guard but I just ordered anyway trying not to think much of it because maybe she was having a rough day. I ordered 2 pasties and hot items and usually the cashier gives you your pastries beforehand but she did not (it's worth mentioning I ordered an item that only had one left on the tray). I sat down to wait for my order and to my surprise the cashier was extremely friendly to everyone after me and gave them all their pastries they ordered (including the last pastry that I had just paid for, she gave to another customer right after me). All of the customers after me were white and I am black, so I started to piece together the situation based on my observations. The owner/manager (I'm not sure her role but she seems to be in charge most times I see her) was very helpful and kind in remedying the situation and provided me with a refund for the item I paid for that was given to someone else as well as gave me a free secondary pastry item so thank you for that. I have never been treated this way anywhere in Broad Ripple and I was shocked to have experienced being treated like a second class citizen in Broad Ripple in such a blatant and purposeful way. I always tip and even tipped her this time as well (something I wish I could take back today or hopefully is at least shared with other staff). I am very disappointed with this experience and don't feel comfortable coming back or recommending BreadWorks anymore to anyone ever again, especially to other...

It would come out perfect with these big chunks of lobster and perfectly cooked bacon on this lightly toasted bun. I looked forward to it, Every. Week.
And yet, today when I went in, I learned, that they had taken down their lunch menu. (Well, grilled cheese and chicken salad is still there). I was floored. I’m sad to see you go LBLT. You were a good friend. Had always been there for me. Sometimes you just don’t know what you have until it’s gone…
If I had known, that last week I was saying goodbye to LBLT forever, I would have cherished the moment. Not rushed through it to get back to work on time. Maybe said a prayer and poured one out. And now it’s gone…
🎶 How do I say goodbye to what we had? The good times that made us laugh Outweigh the bad. I thought we'd get to see forever But forever's gone It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday
I don't know where this road Is going to lead All I know is where we've been And what we've been through And if we get to see tomorrow I hope it's worth all the wait It's hard to say goodbye to yesterday
And I'll take with me the memories To be my sunshine after the rain It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday 🎶
Everything else is good there. If you like breakfast food, great iced tea, coffee, baked goods, good service, and to support...

My partner and I ate here for breakfast today. It was pretty busy when they opened, but they took orders quickly and got our order out just as fast. There is a patio and indoor seating. Inside is really bright with lots of natural light. My partner had their iced coffee and loved it. We both tried the yeast donuts. They were dense and delicious, perfectly glazed in my opinion. My partner had the bacon breakfast sandwich on brioche and wouldn't shut up about how much she likes it. I had the breakfast burrito with lemon crema. i was blown away how good it was. I almost ran out of crema. I did add some hot sauce when I got home. The portions were perfect. I wasn't hungry when I got done, and I didn't feel like I was forcing myself to finish up a big portion. I wish the opened a little earlier during the week. Gonna have to talk my boss into buying donuts for everyone. They have apple fritters and all kinds of other baked goodies. Can't wait to come back and try more. This place is within biking distance of my house. Nice that they have a bike rack off the Monon.
... can't wait to eat another burrito. May have to go back...
