When you first walk into this restaurant you think, "oh no this is not going to be good". Going out to eat with family, and I had to pick the restaurant. I looked on yelp restaurants in this area by zip code. Alot, of restaurants came up for this area broad ripple and sobro. We walk in and my family look was priceless, and they said there is a deli next door. I said; they had great reviews let's try it. It was early and all the seating was full, but we scored a booth in the back. Its not a very big restaurant, and they have another room where the bar is and there is high top tables. I ordered cheese curds, sorry I didn't get a picture, but it was absolutely delicious and fresh. Made with Wisconsin Cheddar cheese and it's definitely fresh not frozen. I ordered the Pressed Cuban (this was good it was on a nice thin bread, everything was nice and warm just like a Cuban Sandwich in the Caribbean) my family ordered Hot Fish Po'boy (very flavorful and not spicy as indicated just right for flavor, seasoned fries very good) Angus Khan (spicy, but very good if you like spicy food without the egg and lettuce. Pimento mac and cheese which I was told was very good. Oh, and the patty is very thick and big. Sorry this item didn't get a picture) Last one was Salmon Sandwich which my family said; (look at the size and thickness of this salmon she was very happy and it was good, with a salad as her choice for a side) Everyone finished all their meals with nothing to take home. The Cheese Curd appetizer can be split between 4 people no problem, and you get 2 sauces with it. We chose Chipotle and Chimichuri. If you want additional sauce it's .50 cents more. You don't need the extra sauce. The curds have their own flavor which is very good. It's a very laid back restaurant, but the service is amazing and they definitely know what to recommend. Which I am sure everything is good. Thank you Yelp for having great reviews and all the reviews are accurate!! We will definitely be back if in the area. It's about 35...
Read moreHad purchased a $50 gift certificate for $25 via a local deal, so decided to try it out. Had heard parking could be a challenge, so parked along the main road just north of the restaurant, although there appears to be a lot behind the restaurant as well (not sure if that is open for restaurant clientele or designated for other folks).
They apparently take reservations, although I didn't see that on the website prior to going so we had to wait a little bit after checking in at the host stand. They have seating in front along the sidewalk under an awning, but it was raining so most folks weren't taking their chances. We managed to get a hi-top table in a bar-ish area near the front window of the establishment.
Server was prompt and efficient. Beer selection was pretty good and I believe it was a reduced price for pints on the evening we dined. The stout I drank (Rogue?) was extremely good. I decided to try their mushroom rueben sandwich since it was a unique option. Tasted fantastic, although the fries side that came with it weren't my favorite. They kind of reminded me of Long John Silvers. I believe it cost $15, which I'm not sure was a great value, but the sandwich was very good and we had the certificate.
If we were local, would probably come back for the beer selection. Not sure if the food menu is worth the prices from our table's general consensus, so probably won't be back based on...
Read moreUpdate went here tonight 12/5/23. This will be the last time I come here. I order a classic burger with coleslaw, my friend orders a wraith burger with cheddar instead of blue cheese with a salad we also get cheese curds. The curds were good but sitting in a pool of oil. My burger was ok but the coleslaw was gross. My friend's food was fine. When the waiter checked on us I told him I didn't like the coleslaw he said yesterday it's not good and walked away without offering to get me a different side. When we got the bill there was a $1.00 charge for cheddar cheese that we were not expecting. One would think if you were substituting one cheese for another there wouldn't be a charge. Oh well guess they need that buck more than I do. Our waiter seemed like he really didn't want to be there. This place was really good a few years ago but now I say avoid it.
Make sure you check your. I went there with a couple of friends the other night. I ordered a classic burger, my friends ordered a wrath burger and salmon BLT. The food was great but according to the bill we ordered 2 of everything. When I brought it to the waiters attention he said he thought it looked high but didn't check it before giving it to us. I don't want to think he was trying to rip us off but it sure...
